    HI,
I am trying to do a self repair on a couple of ds lites.
I bought a triwing screwdriver on ebay from an irish guy but it doesn't seem to fit?
I am not sure if its me and not putting enough pressure on the screws but they just seem to make a clicking sound when I try to open them.

Is there 2 types of triwing's by any chance?
These were bought in the states so not sure if this makes any difference.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

There is only one afaik (i use the same one for all nintendo consoles anyways)

Is it the small see through red plastic handled ones by any chance? I found them beyond useless when i was using them!

The best one I ever got and its still the one i use came with a wii remote case i got off dealextreme

Used the ol' bic-pen trick myself before, but I bought a set of the red-handled ones on eBay before, and they worked great for me. Guess I was one of the lucky ones.

forgive me ignorance but whats the bic pen trick?
Do you use the lid or something to open the DS?
    Cheers.

Basically it's removing the core of a bic pen, heating the tip until the plastic becomes mouldable (not molten :D), & while its in that state you push the pen onto the screw you wish to remove. Whilst holding it down, the plastic will mould itself to the shape of the screw & then set solid.

    It's the cowboy method :p

    Well.
I got the larger triwing as recommended on here and still no luck.
    It won't budge.
I don't know if its me but it seems that it doesnt fit?
Someone told me that some U.S or Canadian DS's use a different screw?
This is driving me mad, I have the parts to fix the consoles and know what I have to do but cannot open the bloody things.
    Can anyone help?
I'll pay at this stage to get shot of them.
    Cheers.
    Sham.

    I don't think so.

    Very strange.

    Got sorted at last.
Guy in work had one and it worked?
Other 3 that I bought were 2 big even though they were advertised as for DS Lite?
Anyway, cheers all for the reply.
