Heat more food in the microwave! Heating food in the microwave uses only 20 percent of the energy required by a full-sized oven. :)

    ESB man

I spent a good fifteen minutes trying to come up with a funny electricity joke...
As you can see I'm not good at jokes :P.

Surely there must be a way of harnassing the hot air generated in Dail Eirean.... my estimates suggest if we could utilise 73% of this free and (unfortunately) renewable energy source, Ireland could be energy independent in approx 3yrs.

Turn off the heating, it costs money, wastes energy, and you probably won't die straight away. :pac:

Tie a badger to a thermostat. Right now. Come on, what are you waiting for?

I know it's been said but only fill the kettle with enough for one or two cups instead of filling it to the top

    Insulation retains heat

Wood instead of peat or coal
Appliances switched off when not in use
No open fires, they waste energy
    Thermostat; turn it down

    Automatic standby mode

    Showers instead of baths
Only fill kettles with the water you need
    Never leave a tap running
    You should recycle

    Electric heaters are a no-no
Reel in the cash with little changes
Insure your hot water tank has a proper jacket
Chilly weather calls for more blankets
Single glazed windows let heat escape
Solar energy is the way to go
    Only buy energy efficient bulbs
Not to be a bore; but be energy efficient!
