    Insulation retains heat

Wood instead of peat or coal
Appliances switched off when not in use
No open fires, they waste energy
    Thermostat; turn it down

    Automatic standby mode

    Showers instead of baths
Only fill kettles with the water you need
    Never leave a tap running
    You should recycle

    Electric heaters are a no-no
Reel in the cash with little changes
Insure your hot water tank has a proper jacket
Chilly weather calls for more blankets
Single glazed windows let heat escape
Solar energy is the way to go
    Only buy energy efficient bulbs
Not to be a bore; but be energy efficient!

    This is the best tip

If you are too lazy to completely turn something off (like TV), buy a remote controlled socket.

Don't leave appliances to charge over night such as phones. Not only will it save energy but it is also quite dangerous to do so:D

When it’s cold, call into your neighbour for an hour and warm yourself with their heating.

I really just need a new phone...and feeling very witty at this hour, so if you're cold just stick on an extra jumper instead of using electricity :)
