Be aware of all the unnecessary things you have plugged in/on standby at home. Only use what you need and you'll be surprised at what you'll save while still being comfortable!

Put the date on the energy efficient light bulbs when you install them, then you can actually tell how long they last. Oh and get some draft excluders.

Would love one of these phones for my other half.

Tip: Throw on a jumper when you are feeling a bit cold instead of turning on the heating straight away. Even your old favourite one that's looking a bit tatty! Perfect for keeping you snug during the evening.

TIP - Only fill the kettle up with the amount of water you need, not full to the top. Saves energy and save time waiting for a cuppa!

Go to XDA Developer forums if you do win the phone and look for GingerDX which is the community version of Android for this phone which enables extra features on the phone from the stock one which has stopped getting updates.

Also look up rooting it so you can install the ROM. The new ROM comes with better battery life so it is an energy saving tip ;)

Turn her on instead of turning everything on - like in terms of keeping warm.

How many lawyers does it take to change a lightbulb?

3; One to set up and climb the ladder, one to shake the ladder, one to sue the ladder company.

Leaving the hob on after cooking dinner is useful for heating but doesn't balance out on the bill.

Never leave stuff on stanby mode, not only does it waste energy, it's dangerous aswell.

My tip is that when boiling the kettle, only boil enough for what you need!
