I've definitely mentioned this before, probably several times :pac: but I have to again - I don't think I own any other mix that I've been listening to literally since I bought it back in 1994 that I still listen to with the same awe as I do this first half of X-Mix 3 mixed by John Aquaviva. Back then it amazed me and was part of how I really first came to love techno - 17 years later and I still love it just as much... timeless mix and I think I can say my number 1 ever!

Anyone with even a passing interest in techno should listen to this from start to finish, genius stuff. The opening atmospheric gentle build before it kicks in at 7.46 is just brilliant - the pounding entrance of 'Blue' by Math-U-Matix at this point sets the pace for the mix which is just back to back quality techno...

I was never as keen on the Richie Hawtin mix on this compared to Aquaviva but still quality none the less, just overshadowed I suppose by the brilliance of the 1st half.
