Installing Windows XP on Thin Client-HOW??

Got my hands on a HP Thin Client T5730 and I wanted to know if there is any way of installing XP onto it. Any hints, tutorials or links on how to do this would be much appreciated. Thanks

make a bootable USB iso of the windows xp image you own the licence for.

legal download here and use your licence key at the end

Is that not a link to the sp3 update and not the os itself?

You can install XP off a usb key but its annoying to do. Good luck googleing.

Just use the bootable usb method, use wintoflash utility.

Its pretty easy, when you've made your usb stick bootable with xp then just set the usb as the boot device in the bios.
Ive used it for win7, its handy having a win7 bootable usb stick.

You sure that works with XP? Since the problem with XP is that the install won't recognize the USB and it will fail on about 90% of the usual methods. But Windows 7 and Vista have base level USB drivers that pick up USB keys as installation media if necessary.

Thanks for the replies.
Managed to make a bootable usb drive, but as Cuddlesworth said, its not recognising the usb.
Back to the drawing board.
Would Windows 7 be a better option than XP for a thin Client. Or how about different OS altogether.

Windows seven would struggle with the bare specs of a thin client. A linux distribution would be a better option.

Yea Linux would be a good alternative. I've just installed Linux mint on a friends laptop which was struggling under XP because its so old and stuff like antivirus etc was chewing up precious resources. Anyway neither of us have used Linux previously, I was very impressed how intuitive it is, and fast!
