Now this is a story all about how,
My life got flipped, turned upside down.
And I'd like to take a minute - just sit right there -
And tell you how I became the queen of a county called Kildare.

North-west of Ireland born and raised,
On the playground is where I spent most of my days.
Chillin' out, maxin', relaxing all cool,
Shooting some b-ball, heading to the pool.
When a couple of guys, who were up to no good,
Started making trouble in my secondary school.
I failed one lil' exam and my mam got scared
And said "You're going to have to go to the priest college in Kildare!"

I Begged and pleaded with her day after day,
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way.
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket,
So I put my iPod on and said I might as well kick it!

Standard class, yo this is bad!
Drinking orange juice out of a plastic glass.
Is this what the people of Kildare living like?
    Hmm this might be alright!
But wait I hear prissy, bourgeois and all that
Is this the type of place they should send this cool cat??
I don't think so, I'll see when I get there.
I hope they're prepared for the queen of Kildare.

I rang for a taxi and when it came near,
The license plate said FRESH and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this tazi was rare
But I thought naw forget it, "to Maynooth in Kildare!"
I pulled up to the apartment about 7 or 8,
And I yelled to the driver, "Yo homes, smell ya later!"
I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there,
To sit on my throne as the Queen of Kildare.

    :D

What were you like the night before your JC results?

Were you happy with said results?

Did the results mean anything to you after getting them?

Ever not do any of your piles of homework because you were just in too good a mood?

Should I be asking more personal questions than questions relating to my current scenario?

I can't really remember! Nervous I assume :pac:

Were you happy with said results?
I was! I got a very unexpected A in science. And I somehow managed to not fail Irish.

Did the results mean anything to you after getting them?
    Not really :p

Ever not do any of your piles of homework because you were just in too good a mood?
I'm very sure I did! Although I tended to always do my homework, unless it was Irish :p

Should I be asking more personal questions than questions relating to my current scenario?
Naw it's okay! Good luck for tomorrow! My wee brother is getting his results too, so I've heard all about it this past while :D

    Are you superstitious?
    Not really.

If so, do you have any rituals that you follow?
None that I can think of :p

What do you do to chill out?
Internets :pac: Painting my nails, listening to music, and sleeping. I love my bed!

What are you doing right now (apart from being on boards)?
Drinking a glass of coke, and wondering how I'm going to fit all my stuff in my room. Also watching beauty tutorials on youtube :)

    Do you have any pets?
Yes, a wee sheepdog called Max! He's 5 and we got him of my aunt when her dog had pups. I love him to bits, and talk to him in a ridiculous squeaky voice :o He's also very spoiled and lazy, but good at helping move cattle. Here he is:

    <3

    Do you have any quirks?
I hate when drawers and press doors are left open! And poorly tagged music files :p I also have to make sure piles of books or fliers are perfectly straight and level.

How do you think your friends describe you?
Funny, in both senses of the word :pac: And argumentative :p. Nice too I hope!

What song is that? :o Seeing as I don't know it, I'm not sure if I've noticed it in ads. Although no doubt it's one that I'll know instantly when I hear it due to the power of advertising! If it's as widely used as Sweet Disposition, then yes, yes it is the new it. Aliens. Yes. And yes :P

    What's an English degree like?
Great! It's hard work with the large amounts of reading and all, but it's also very enjoyable :) You get to study such random things; like last year I got to study two graphic novels (Persepolis and Maus, as well as more regular authors like Joyce and Beckett.

    Favourite book?
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Without a doubt.

    Favourite author?
Sylvia Plath, Paul Muldoon, oul Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson. And many more.

    Most overrated book/author?
Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. I did enjoy it, but I had been led to believe that it was going to change my life so it was a bit of a let down. Also Holden Caulfield is a plick. But I'm sure if he was real he'd be incredibly good looking.

    Most underrated book/author?
Okay, this play isn't really underrated, but I must admit I hadn't heard of it before I read it earlier this year :o - Look Back In Anger by John Osborne. It is AWESOME! One of the few books that have made me cry.

    Mr Darcy - thoughts?
My thoughts involving Mr Darcy (or rather Colin Firth as Mr Darcy) are a bit NSFW. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide!!

    Cake or death?
Both are sometimes warranted, but at the moment, cake!

NUIM and the lovely people who inhabit it.

    Least favourite thing about Kildare?
It's very far away from the sea! I'm used to living within five minutes of it back in Sligo.

Most memorable moment in "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air"?
Any involving Will's hat. Or Carlton.
    Ricky91t wrote: »
Awk you're some buck for making them bold so I don't have to! :D

One thing you like about Ireland?
The Irish sense of humour and use of language. Also club orange.

One thing you don't like about it?(If any!!)
People can tend to be a bit too nosy/gossipy.

Something you couldn't go a day without?
Internet :o Although I tend to do that when I'm at home due to crappy mobile "broadband", so maybe sleep.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Probably doing something similar to what I do know. So arsing around doing nothing :p I'll hopefully have some sort of job at that stage though! I'm not an overly ambitious person :p

Is the world going to end in 2012?
    I don't think so.

What theme do you use on boards?
    Cloud!

    Country side or city?
I love both. Grew up in the countryside, but I like how everything is so close by in cities.

    Last CD you bought?
James Blake's self-titled debut at the start of August. So it's been a while!

    Favourite Postcolonial literary theorist?
Either Franco Moretti or Edward Said. Moretti's writing style is savage (I've read his articles for enjoyment more then study :o); technically he might not be considered a postcolonial theorist (moreso a Marxist one), but he did coin the term World Literature. And you can't bate a bit of Edward Said ;)

Favourite Nick Cave song and album?
Into My Arms - it's one of my favourite songs of all time. Midnight Man is also great. Favorite album would be The Boatman's Call.

Favourite PJ Harvey song and album?
Song = Rid Of Me. And I can't choose between Dry and White Chalk; two very different but very awesome albums.

    Most controversial opinion?
i think the amounts of money involved at the highest levels of soccer is absolutely disgusting and is the main reason why I've lost interest in it (used to be quite the soccer nerd when I was younger :pac:) It's not really that controversial I suppose, but me and my brothers have lots of arguments over it :p I'm also of a very liberal/left-wing persuasion so a few of my social/political views would be considered anathema by many.

    Tea: yay or nay?
I love tea :) I would drink about five cups a day when I'm at home, but I hardly ever drink it when I'm in Maynooth! It's quite odd. I think it's because the water tastes rank up here compared to my nice Sligo water -___-

    Ketchup or mustard?
Both! Chef ketchup though, cuz Heinz is nowhere near as nice. And I fracking love mustard :pac:

    History or Geography?
I've actually studied both at college :P History, if I have to choose though,

    2K10 or 2KX??
    2kai10 zomgzzzz

What is your educated opinion on the US bombing of Kosovo in ´99?
Although there were horrible atrocities committed in Yugoslavia in the 90s, I don't really think it was the place of the US to bomb Kosovo. If UN troops had gone in under their own steam I think things would have been a lot better for Kosovo. Although looking at how the UN treated their mission to Rwanda during the 1994 genocide, that mightn't necessarily have turned out for the best either

What should we take from Cameron and Sarkozy´s warm reception in Benghazi?
I don't think any huge amount of notice should be taken of it tbh. A different group of people, a different hour of the day and the way they were received could have been the exact opposite.

Would you support pooling of sovereignty to save money?
No. There are loads of other ways to save money than that. Probably wouldn't be the wisest thing at the minute anyway.

Should we ask the Queen back as this presidential election is dire?
Sure why not? :P At the minute it looks like I'll be spoiling my vote anyway so makes no difference :D

s it possible to lie without saying a word??

Why isnt milk, evaporated, a gas???

Do you ask enough questions or settle for what you know??

When all is said and done, will you have said more than you've done???

Why do we close doors and windows to reduce noise, considering that sound travels better through solids?

    What is true strength?

Whats the difference between living and existing???

Can we ever be sure that our perception of things is right – without consulting other people? If we do consult others, how are we to know whether theirs is true or if we’re both deluded?

No doubt, as you read these questions, you hear a voice in your head. What do deaf people hear when they read???

"It takes all types to make up society." Discuss, in no less than 500 words, and no more than 503.

Is it possible to lie without saying a word??
Yes. Body language and stuff. Or you could write it down :P

Why isnt milk, evaporated, a gas???
Because the cows don't want it to be.

Do you ask enough questions or settle for what you know??
I tend to ask questions. Probably too many.

When all is said and done, will you have said more than you've done???
Procrastination is a rather large habit of mine, so no doubt I'll have said more than I've done >.<

Why do we close doors and windows to reduce noise, considering that sound travels better through solids?
Most people don't know that sound travels better through solids. In fact, I'm not sure if that's even true >___>

    What is true strength?
The ability to want something but not have it. That, or weightlifting.

Whats the difference between living and existing???
Living involves having a good time, being with people you like, and generally being content. Existing is when you feel like all of that isn't possible.

Can we ever be sure that our perception of things is right – without consulting other people? If we do consult others, how are we to know whether theirs is true or if we’re both deluded?
Everyone perceives things differently; it's best to trust your own view, unless you know it's wrong.

No doubt, as you read these questions, you hear a voice in your head. What do deaf people hear when they read???
They have a voice in their head too; we don't really *hear* the voice in our heads, more feel it.

I'm going to come back to the last question in a while. My brain is too fried for it atm :P
