I've done the ECDL and the ECDL advanced in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access. I did in conjunction with a FETAC level 5 in admin, to me these are awards that prove that I have some knowledge in the use of the programs. With anything I could use them but it's to have some proof that you can was my main reason in using them.

If you can do it for free and have nothing else to be doing then I would but wouldn't spend the money on them as they can be expensive

    Hey. :)

I just finished college, so I know the basics of computers, but I never used Excel, so I want to do an ECDL course in word and Excel. I was told I would be bored stiff. My friend suggested I do Advanced ECDL, however when I emailed the school close to me about doing advanced ECDL, the secretary there told me it would be very difficult. Do you think I would be able to get through it? I really don't want to sit through a basic ECDL course where they 'teach' you how to browse the internet/write a letter. Although, I have not a bulls notion how to work Excel. I would be really grateful for any advice.

Just buy a book on using Exel The Dummies series are very good. I used to teach the ECDL and computers to adults. These series of books are so easy to follow and the cover everything you would need to know.

    Hi
ECDL is useful have found that many users who think they know what they are doing cannot copy files from one directory to another, cannot understand Excel, change font in word or produce a powerpoint presentation. you may think you know it all but think again.
