Is there any good deals on replacing doors and windows.
was quoted in the region of 1,000 for a PVC white back door and about 2,000 for a composite back door.

My mam is looking for value for money in terms of repairs to her house, suggestions would be most welcome.:D

Composite doors are usually bought for the Front Door, as they are considerably more expensive.

A grand sounds a bit high for a standard back door, fitted, get another quote ot two, or if you are handy, head down to B/Q and buy a door, and fit it for her.;)

As already suggested, ring three different companies, arrange for them to come out & measure/assess for an exact price. Face to face is better & that way there can be no confusion as regards it being 'a bigger or more complicated job than they thought'.

You'd be surprised how prices can vary, but sometimes they vary for a good reason. Make sure that you are being quoted for the same type of door e.g. style, type of locks or number of locking points. Tell them you are getting other quotes so you want their best price.

Make sure your mother is there with you as mothers are better at haggling!
