played on a big computer years ago

Now if anyone can tell me what game that is I will shake your hand

Super Mario 2 or Pacman , or was the lady Pacman, in the arcade. Not the original but a side scrolling one.

    Mr. Do! ?

Edit: going by the description, it has to be Mr. Do! surely. I remember playing this at school 'computer club' on the BBC Micro. One of my all time favorites and the soundtrack was legendary.

Here's a gif I found that pleads my case:

I do - in all its CGA glory. I had it in a "pack" of sorts ;) along with other games. There was one really strange one, simple platformer called Jason Jupiter

Surely a Nomad? If its not screen modded it doesn't count. Battery box mod & screen mod will guarantee you the means to an end :D

Lets just say in involved the word frothing...

Coming from you that could mean anything :D

Froth in this forum is generally caused by:

Virtual Boy's (as in the console, though this isn't specific to Retr0)
    Vectrex
    Amiga's
    Candy Cabs
    Jamma Cabs
    T Shirts
    Dinousaurs
    Killer Whales

So, taking the above into account...I'm gonna go with a Candy Cab?

    Please tell me it does!!!

If so there'll be plenty of frothing indeed :)

    • SHMUPS
    • Cave
    • Raizing
    • Toaplan
    • Doujin SHMUPS
    • French Restaurants
    • Dublin 13
    • Proposed changes to the LBW rule in cricket
    • Sausages
    • Hats

Oh and if it's a Konami Windy II you're getting...I hate you. :(

Kinda odd that even though this has gone completely off topic the thread title is still relevant :D

    I have one:

C64 game (or was certainly available on C64 anyway)
    Military type game
Player A was left side of screen, Player B was right side
Could have been an invasion objective...I can remember basically nothing about the game barring a fuzzy still image
I'm quite sure if one of your soldiers got shot/killed, you heard "MEDIC!" in glorious C64 sound.

Basically nothing to go on, stuff like "Green Beret" sticks out in my mind but thats not it at all. This was a base v base game I think.

Okay... here's one I was just thinking of but can't remember the title.

Played it in the arcade but pretty sure it was a Neo Geo machine.

It was a top down or possibly isometric racer. You raced from one end of Africa to another over a bunch of maps with different styles... some of them might have been night maps where you had to have your headlights on... it's also very possible I'm getting a few games mixed up. I think it might have been one long continuous run with a map showing your progress on the game over screen like in Out Run.

    Ring any bells?

sounds like you may have 1or 2 games mixed up there .But it either neo drift out(isometric) or thrash rally(overhead) thrash rally you race from one end of africa to the other !

Yep. Trash Rally is correct... think I was getting it mixed up with Over Top though.

Requesting some help from you nice folks...
I'm trying to find an old (possibly early to mid 80's) handheld / table-top electronic game, but my fading memory is failing me. It might have been made by Grandstand (might not, sorry), but it's not Astro Wars or Scramble, but may have been in a similar type "cabinet" to Scramble... I think.

The very vague and limited details I can recall are:
    • it had a rectangular play area,
    • it only used one colour in the display - that Astro Wars type of white / blue,
    • in the game you had to "dig" holes to trap the baddies then fill them in,
    • these holes were simple circles and squares.

Sorry I know it's not much to go on, but any help much appreciated.
    Thanks, James

    Thanks Cathal, no not that...

after a lot of trawling through retro game sites I found it:

    http://www.handheldmuseum.com/CGL/EarthInvaders.htm

There's one for £60 on ebay but I know nothing about how much these retro games should be. Really want to get hold of it so I suppose it's worth it to me.

    Thanks again...

btw, sorry for the s**** description in my previous post, memory let me down
