Ford Mondeo mk2 questions

    Hi,
I was asking these questions on the ford forum but it seems the thread is gone a bit dead (http://www.talkford.com/topic/22626-where-to-get-your-fuel-boost-turned-up-mk1-mk2/) basically here one of the things it is advising to remove the throttle damper to make the acceleration more responsive. It's a ball and socket type joint and it's telling me to prise it off. How much force should this take does anybody know? I don't want to break anything! don't suppose anybody has done it on a mondeo mk 2 before? Any disadvantage to removing the damper?

Also my light I got my headlights aligned the other day and that night they left front one was making a clicking noise. Hasn’t happened since so i’m not too worried about it this ever happened to anybody else?

Finally, the primer on my fuel pump is gone. Does anybody know if they contain a non return valve or something, as my car is hard started when left for a few hours. (it is diesel) glow plugs seem to be in order, new battery. I’m wondering is the fuel filter draining of diesel due to the primer being gone?

    Any advice appreciated!

    Thanks!
