Any decent amateur theatre groups in or near Douglas, Cork?

    I have been searching for drama groups in my area to join and have turned up nada so far. The reason why I'm looking for something close to where I live is because I don't drive, so coming into winter, I didn't want to be making long trips home from rehearsals in the dark. I have been acting in plays and musicals since I was a child and have toured around Ireland with my theatre group from home.
    If anyone knows of ANY highly-regarded amateur groups that they could recommend, I would be very grateful. If the group is decent, I'd have no problem travelling further than originally anticipated. Thanks! :pac:

    Have you asked the DLI?

    They would have contact details for most drama groups, esp since they are also the agents for Samuel French


    Most (but not all of course) of the stronger groups compete in the drama festivals run by the ADCI and the DLI

    perhaps the ADCI would also know groups in your area, who have performed well on the circuit.

    Thanks Brightspark. As far as I can see, there's no listing on either of those websites of any drama group nearby, but I'm going to contact both companies and suss it out anyway.
