Eircom Prices?!? - Craazy

    Can only get DSL in my area and am currently with Vodafone at home.

    Vodafone rang to offer me some additional credits (30 min free mobile mins to any network).

    So I get:
    Up to 8mb
    Free local, national, UK anytime
    200 mins to 3 Vodafone mobile nums

    All for €44 a month

    Before I agreed (12 month contract) I said I'd check Eircom prices.
    Equivalent package with Eircom is €66.71 (€63 for first 6 months).

    Eircom are a massive €20 a month more expensive?!?

    You're looking at the standard 7Mb dsl package.

    The equivalent Eircom 8Mb (ngb nonsense) with unlimited calls, 30 mins to mobile, is €55 a month.

    So €11 euro a month difference.

    Also isn't the vodafone package limited to 40GB download vs 250GB for eircom.
    (or truly unlimited if your on the 7Mb, €66 package)

    When I had looked a few months back, the difference between Vodafone and Eircom was low enough (Vodafone still cheaper)

    When I check today I found this - Eircom have gotten worse!

    Yeah you're right limit on Vodafone is 40gb. Eircom's is 50gb on the package above

    No, that's the same price it's been for ages.
    Eircom have two tiers - Those in NGB areas, and those that aren't.

    If you're in an NGB area you get the €55, 8Mb, 250GB package.

    If not, then the €66, 7Mb package is the best you can get.
    Although it says 50GB, no limit is actually applied (as in you can download 500GB+ without issue)
