The King of Fighters XIII Console Version Launch Tournament at Clash X Counter 3



Date:
Saturday October 29th

Time:
1:30pm (sign-ups and casuals begin at 1pm)

Venue:
The Space, 1st floor, QUB Student's Union

Format:
Groups into double elimination bracket. All matches in the brackets will be decided by the best two out of three games. In the grand final, the player who came from the loser's bracket must win an extra set.

Two other things to mention:
1. If someone could bring a second copy of the game that'd be awesome.
2. If this tournament is a success I will look into organising KOF XIII ranking battles.

I'll be taking sign-ups in this thread as well as on the day.

Its great, HUGE improvement over 12. There are means of playing the arcade version ... without .... going to the arcade (wink wink) but you obviously cant play online and have none of the console exclusives.

Ill be picking this up though not at launch as I just got laid off (f*** you Talk Talk), unless I have a job by then, in which case I will.

Bad news - the game is not going to come out until November (no exact date given) apparently. So the tourney will have to be put back to some other time.

Bah, KoF 12 lost me too badly, Placebo. Totally uninterested in this game, despite how pretty it is and there being a character called Sai in it.

KOF12 was basically beta testing for KOF13.

Scavenger XIII

In fairness there's a radical difference in gameplay between 12 and 13.

It's like the difference between SF4 and 3S.

That's a bit harsh on SF4.

KOF12 is to 13 as 2nd Impact was to 3rd Strike would be more accurate.

Or maybe as BB:CT is to BB:CSII.

Owing to a lack of available setups this had to go on after the AE ranbat (instead of alongside it as originally planned) and it couldn't be finished on time. The top four, though, are
