GADGET TO READ 5.25 " FLOPPY DISKS

I need to read old 5.25 inch floppy disks . My modern Dell
Laptop (USB) and my Desktop Computor (parallel port) which reads 3.5 inch disks cannot read the old 5.25 inch
disks. Is there a gadget/external reader that plugs into
my current computors that will read the old 5.25 inch
disks, or can I convert the data on the old 5.25 inch disks
to 3.5 disks or to a USB Flash Drive ?

You might be able to get an internal drive from eBay and install it in a bay on your PC, and copy the files off.

I have a 5.25" floppy drive sitting in a wardrobe at home, at those prices I might have to put it on eBay!

5.25".... that's some hardcore shizzle. Haven't used one in years. I'd offer to sell you my own, but it's frazzled.

Would the data even be still readable on it after all this time? I'm assuming the discs are over 20 years old? Ya gotta remember these are tiny magnetic fields we're talking about. Good luck though
