Looking for a new PC after my last one died. Willing to spend €1000. Have a relatively new gtx 460 from the last PC but I don't mind replacing it if needs be. Any suggestions for builds? My first time building from scratch.

Don't need a hard drive but I'll probably need a monitor and speakers.

Sounds good. What about a sound card? Will this all work ok if I hold off on a new graphics card and stick with the old one for a few weeks?

No the P67 boards have no integrated graphics support to tide you over in the meantime so unfortunately not, if you want the ability to overclock and integrated graphics support you would need to change to a z68 board.
EDIT: Doh sorry misread your post , your current GT460 will tide you over just fine.

Realtek onboard audio chipset is quite good, and a budget soundcard would probably be little or no better in terms of quality. Unless you are very discerning audiophile, and have a budget for a really good soundcard then I wouldn't bother.

A 460 is still a pretty good card, so if you're just doing up to HD resolutions, I'd go with Burgo's build minus the 6950 and you could replace it next year.

Good point, we should be seeing new 7XXX cards in the next 3-4 months from AMD and surely NVidia won't be too far behing with their next refresh so it would be worth hanging onto for a while.

No. I'll wait til I get a new graphics card before I get a monitor. Although I found this one on the site which seems like a goo prebuilt so I might take the easy road.

A cooler comes with it - It's sufficient and allow for some overclocking but not very effective and can be noisy. Here's some alternatives.

If you want it built, they won't install any of these as they can put too much pressure on the motherboard when it's being jolted around in shipping.

2500K is the one that you want.

Took my computer apart and put it back together. Two problems with it now. The power button doesn't work (my fault probably). And the computer won't start with the monitor plugged in. So i might hold off on the new one for now. i may need to just upgrade the graphics or switch the monitor.

No, only at high resolutions. 1gb is plenty for 1080p

Any thoughts? I'm not sure about the ram. The one that was recommended is sold out.

EDIT: Just noticed how ugly the case is. Must have picked the wrong one. Think I've fixed it.
