Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, Can you disable your overdraft if you've no need for it.

A friend of mine ends up going overboard and struggles for the next few weeks when the bank automatically takes it out of her account when she gets paid.

It would be much better if her spending stopped when her account reached 0

Yes. Just contact the branch and it can be removed

If she's using the overdraft every month then suddenly removing it will surely cause financial difficulty?

she's far better off removing the overdraft facility - 1- it'll save her an overdraft facility fee and 2 it'll save her interest on overdraft every month and 3) will be able to manage her money much better - only way to do this is discipline - put money aside for the "must pay bills" and what ever is left over in the account, that has to do for discretionary spending unil next pay day

I had this problem as a student with one particular bank, repeatedly went into the bank to stop it occuring and they told me I should check the balance before each transaction, eventually they asked me to close my account with them!
I have never had an issue like this with my 'new' bank, with them 6 years!
