He really is the luckist guy in Northern Ireland when it comes to weather watching here! I've got him on facebook and every other week he has a new funnel cloud picture up lol

Or he's just an expert photoshop artist! ha  :pac:

Play was suspended at 4.10pm due to threat of lightening. Action was resumed since 5pm.

A few strikes over Belfast at the moment, that same thin band of rain is passing over Meath so assume theres a risk all along it

Would be surprised if there was no strikes around here. Unbelievably heavy shower here about half an hour ago. Along with a shower a few weeks ago they're the two heaviest I've ever seen here.

Time for an Autumn thread methinks.

Looks like there could be a couple of sparks this afternoon as showers over the Midlands intensify and move eastwards.

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this?? I need help from anyone who could tell me if there was any lightning activity in the Dingle area of Co.Kerry at approx 3.00 / 4.00am on the 16th Sept 2011. We had a lot of electrical equipment damage on a site in the area that night and were trying to establish if it was caused by lightning.
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like some activity heading towards the south coast/Cork this morning. http://brunnur.vedur.is/athuganir/eldingar/

Noticed some serious activity on this site :
    http://sproule.co.uk/weather/lightning.php

see screenshot enclosed ... I woould assume this was as a result of a detector issue, noise, failure etc? ie this can't be real?

    Definitely a detector issue.

There were a couple of strikes close to that detector at about the same time that were obviously picked up very very wrongly!
