    looking to get the attic insulated - anyone got any experience of folks they'd be happy to recommend??

    I can't recommened anyone, why not do it yourself, it's pretty straight forward to do.

    as aujopimur said a lot cheaper to do youreself.buy the insulation in millstreet and a saw,cut to measurements and roll out.simple job also buy the overalls the white one as its ictey stuff that insulation.

    if you do it yourself or if you get someone in, make sure that you retain ventilation in the attic space.
    depending on when your home was built you may have vents at the eaves (which you must retain air-flow to) if not, adding insulation will reduce the amount of heat escaping into the attic space
    but MAY cause unforeseen problems such as a colder attic (with the same amount of moisture escaping from below) causing a higher risk of condensation in the attic.
    this can be solved by insuring good ventilation of the space and it would be worth double checking your situation when installing insulation.
