Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dont know maybe ive just been unlucky but anytime I did pull in there the women tended to be a bit nuts to say the least, although they still make for good storys:).

Whats all this about trouble with the bouncers??? I spent a good chunk of my college life there and after college as well, only time I had bother was when a mate of mine was totally out of it on drink. I've been fairly tanked going in the door and no bother at all.

Only downside is its packed, I wouldn't be wearing my best clothes going in there. Sure to get half a pint over you at some stage in the night.

Often pulled but sure that can be done anywhere to be honest.

They must be doing something right as its always packed.

First they came for the socialists...

Don't get the whole 'everyone gets the ride' in there thing to be fair. I've pulled in Coppers and I've pulled in D2, Diceys, Academy, 21s (back in the day), Alchemy etc. I don't find it any easier or any harder than any other spot for meeting the ladies to be fair.

Not a big fan of the place to be honest either, fairly expensive getting in and drinks are always full price, never any promotions. It's an alright commerical nightclub with all the one night stands that go with it but hardly the swingers party that it's made out to be.

Been there a few times hammered-brilliant craic, great for a dance and a laugh.

Been there once relatively sober-couldnt WAIT to get out of the place.

    Says it all really :)

Always had a boyfriend when Ive been there, so never 'got the score' unless from him, but not short of offers-I think guys assume your up for it if youre there to be honest, Ive experienced people just grabbing and going in for the kiss without even a dance/chat/drink/hello...even if I was single that wouldnt be an option-but nothing a polite smile point to a munter and 'try that one' wont fix for the bloke...

I pulled a nurse in there's few years ago. I was bringing her home in the taxi and we pulled up outside a halting site, I couldn't fcuking believe it. I said to her "i thought you were a nurse" she said "no, I told you I was a ward sister". She was a good ride all the same.

Used to live down the road from it for nearly a year, it is what it is as a place to go out, plenty of chances to pull in there but lots of people going around wearing their county jerseys.

A garda owns it and its stays open well past the usual half two cut off point allowing people to get absolutely scuttered and end up doing someone or something they wouldnt normally

I rolled out of a taxi into a puddle right in front of the bouncers and they still let me in.....love the kip.

I always wondered what was the etiquette for scoring girls in this place? Is it a less subtle approach?

never been there either, I keep hearing from a friend of my girlfriend how great it is, but the way she describes it sounds terrible to me.
I've heard it has a real link to the Gardai, so can't think it's the nicest people in there.

Why? Are Gardai not nice people??

I've no problem with the Gardaí, but this just reminded me of a story that a girl I know told me.

One bloke spent an hour or so trying to chat her up, buying her drink etc, and she was having none of it but is the type of polite person who won't tell someone to **** off. Eventually he gets to the crux of the matter and says it out straight. She politely declined. He gets thick and says, "But you can't do that...I'm a guard!"

Was she too polite to refuse the drinks he was buying her too?

As a lad, tbh, if he's dumb enough to keep buying for her without knowing he's in then he deserves it.

I love coppers, because I always end up waaay more drunk than if I went anywhere else....but its like a free for all...you cant move for the groping!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,897 ✭✭✭MagicSean

Coppers doesn't work right unless you are very drunk. if you aren't then the chances of having any kind of good time drops dramatically.

The best time to score imo is probably with 4-5 drinks in you when you have lost that inhibition that sobriety brings but are not drunk enough to be slobbering around the place.

    Risky is right.

You could have a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, the personality of a stuck up diva/supermodel type (male or female) and the body of an abortive mix between an elephant and hippopotamus, and STILL get the score in there

Believe it or not, and it could be because of my ugly bollox for a face, but I never got the score in Coppers, in my 3 visits there. What is going on?:(

In saying that, though, I didn't really try...was too busy getting shítfaced.

its probably the cheapest nightclub in dublin to drink in.....what you on about?

    as its open until 4...

Cheapest nightclub? Care to back that up with some drink price examples?

And about it being open til 4am...how is this possible? I thought all clubs had to close at 2.30am? I've heard because a few garda have shares in it or something and they turn a blind eye, but to be honest I heard that from an idiot who goes there almost 4 days a week so take it with a handful of salt.

I told someone the other day I've only been to Coppers once and they looked at me like I had 10 heads. Don't see what the big deal is

Never had regular luck in there till lately but now I'm up to my neck in clunge as Father Ryan used to say. Great spot, it should be preserved as a national heritage site.

It is what it is, been there a few times when I have been out in Dublin, if you want a night to get pissed as a fart, stagger through a sea of sweaty bodies and very probably "score" if thats what your after, then its the place for you! It doesnt pretend to be anything else like!

It has its place I feel.

This is the first time i have heard of Coppers, i'm heading over to Dublin for a weekend in August and i will most definitely not be heading there. It sounds like my idea of purgatory.

A one eyed boil-encrusted cripple could get the score in Coppers.

I can't understand the current fascination people have with Coppers. Its a nightclub ffs. People get pissed and gnaw the faces off each other like every other nightclub. Most people raving about the place as a great place too pull probably wouldn't get a kick in a stampede.

Only been there once and not single so I can't say.. But it wouldn't have been too hard! I was underage at the time & all  I can't say that I remember a whole lot about that night, but I suppose that's part of it! Got talking to a guard though, who told me about some very questionable things that he does on the side  Was all a very interesting experience anyway haha
