Anyone know what the light might be?

It was very bright and then disappeared... a satellite maybe?

Can't really answer without some sort of details really. A bright light that went off? Somebody switched it off? What kind of light? What did it look like?
Where in the sky was it? What colour was it? and other such questions.

If you can give us some details it is possible someone may be able to answer.

What you ask is a bit like going into a garage and saying to the mechanic. "I saw a car today, what was it?" Without enough information it is impossible to answer with any definate reply.

Neutrinos arriving from Switzerland via Italy before they were sent? Perhaps.
