Aldi, Lidl, Tesco are empty of their basic ranges.

Dunnes were half price last week I think. 10.50 for factor 50

Boots is cheap for 24 hour turnaround. Plus the more you print, the cheaper they are in units.

Suggestions where I can get a blanket box hinge / stay to stop a toy box lid slamming on little fingers? Something like this...

    0000003209097_001c_v001_zp?$48x48_generic$=

No luck in B&Q or O'Higgins Shantallah - will try Woodies tomorrow but not holding out much hope for there. Is there a specialist cabinet makers supplier or suchlike in Galway?

Or does anyone have any better ideas?

My t-shirt stock is stretched to the max! where in town has good value/quality selection?...Dunnes has good choice but quality is poor, they don't last more than a few washes.

Tshirts arent designed to last long really, its not like shops want you in your fav top for a year that they never have your business bar once a year, if you think Dunnes are good then just use them or Penneys.

The one tshirt that has actually lasted the test of time.. literally 6 or 7 years through my weight gain, my weight loss, constantly being washed or put on too high a temprature.. is my quicksilver tshirt. Paid 30 quid for it, and its the only item of clothing other than suits and the odd jacket that has lasted.

Billabong and quicksilver tshirts are really good, great outdoors might have some, dont know where stocks quicksilver. If you want quality, spend the money, if you want a tshirt that wont last, drop 4 quid in pennys.

Is there anywhere that's still selling 3/4 quarter length combats that aren't in garish colours and are reasonably priced (below €30)

Anyone know where I could get a desk fan in galway, they seem to be sold out in the usual shops?

I think I got some khaki coloured in Pennys a long time ago.
    Still have and use them.

I'm looking for somewhere to get photocopying done. I'm on Dublin Road so preferably somewhere near here rather than town. Doesn't need to be colour or anything.

    By the way, great thread!

Duggans Spar In Renmore, beside the post office do photocopying. (or at least used to, been a while since I used em.)

Depending on what you need copied and how many copies just pop into a hotel and chance your arm. Tried it in Jurey's yest and got 5 copies of a single sheet no prob. To be fair she prob would have done 2 or 3 sheets for me, really nice girl ;)

Anywhere near Eyre Sq that sells the City Bin Co. refuse bags or similar? And is it possible to get recycling bags as well as general waste bags?....thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 113 ✭✭juicet3rry

Daybreak newsagent besides supermacs sells those bin bags. General refuse only as far as I'm aware. Approx 4.50 per bag

Brilliant thanks. I ask about the recycling bags because I saw some yesterday outside TK Maxx (clear city bin co. bags with shredded paper inside)... but maybe they are only available to businesses

    Howdy folks,
I'm looking for a good male doctor in Galway City. I live out near Monaghons so ballybane, renmore, riverside area would suit me best. There was a thread I found on the subject but it was from 2006 and I didn't want to start a new thread for it.
I'm off to work now but I'd appreciate a few replies here or by PM etc. Cheers...

I started attending Dr. Canney on Renmore road when I moved here. Unfortunately his house/practice was written off in a fire a few months back.

I asked a local and she said he's still practicing but out of the Bon Secours Hospital while his practice is being sorted. Can anybody confirm this?

Hollands do 3 for 12 so its way better value than Daybreak and they have both clear and white bags.

I'm looking for a wine decanter. No idea how much they cost but don't want to pay a lot for it.

Don't know whether you found one in the mean time, but I spotted some behind the check-outs in in the grocery section of Dunnes Edward Square yesterday and was reminded of this thread. The 1l one was 4 or 5 Euro and there was a 0.5l one, too.

    Looked like this: http://shop.edna.ch/WebRoot/EdnaCH/Shops/EdnaCH/Products/M95877/95877_M_m.jpg

I'm looking for a few bits.
A - cooking & baking stuff e.g. mortar & pestle, silicone baking cases for cupcakes, pastry brush, rolling pin, tea towels. Cheap as possible really. Have looked at Argos online but no such luck. I don't live in town I'm miles away so I'm hoping to pick them up on my next drive in.
B- dehumidifier bags for wardrobes, i.e. not the 'small space bags' but the bigger ones that hang up, it's for the hot press which is very large. Tbh, any cheap way of helping with the condensation in there and the dampness/musty smell in the wardrobe would be great.
Thanks to anyone who can help!
