Always reminds me of 90's movie Empire Records..

I just about died at Howard's "I'M GETTING MAH TITS OUT, CANDICE! I'M GETTING THEM OUT FOR THE GURRRRLS!"

It got a bit emotional towards the end though. I don't think it was rushed. It wasn't supposed to be a huge showdown or anything, it was just Vod realising that she didn't have to put up with it anymore.

I think they do a great job of mixing humour with serious stuff. Even the feminism stuff was well handled. Oregon's list of times she was objectified was funny but also kind of hit the nail on the head, and as I said above, Howard's protest was hilarious.

Penne Zellweger! I'm still laughing at that. And "Does my biscuit licking offend you, Yosie?"

Is Kingsley in love with Sam now too? I have no issues with Josie cheating on him, but if he cheats on her I'll be so mad! :)

What Vod said to him about having found the person he wants to sleep with for the rest of his got to him. I can't decide if he's an naive idiot or just a complete dick. The toing and froing between the two is getting repetitive.

But wasn't that basically what Kingsley was ramming down Josie's throat when they went camping the other week? That he loved her and wanted to be with her forever and all that. If it's all leading up to JP and Josie being the new house couple I'd be fine with it :D

Yeh, he's a fairly inconsistent character. I'm thinking Howard and Candice will be the house couple, which could work, Candice has really grown on me. I loved JP calling Josie his "Welsh harbour"

Me too. I loved that Josie just gave him a cuddle no questions asked too :)

Candice has fit in well. It's good how they manage to integrate new characters in without shoving them in our faces. She seems like she's always been there now.

Agree about Candice she really fits in, and I love the relationship between herself and Oregon

Josie is by far my favourite. Everyone else is kind of an extreme stereotype of college students. Josie is the most relatable, I think. She's the only one that doesn't seem to have a "student identity" if you know what I mean. She's just herself, take it or leave it.

Sabine is such a great character, I love her scenes, she cuts through their nonsense with one word.

Sam is starting to grind my gears, she'd flirt with the wall!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,896 ✭✭✭Hande hoche!

The H party was quite amusing, in particular all the background costumes. The final episode should be good with a Oregon/Vod face off.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,952 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

Josie's "Who are you? The ****ing bin police!?" was hilarious.

Howard and Candice are so painfully sweet, it kills me.

Sabine, again, steels the show with just a few lines. "I'm Hannah Montana, by the way."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

I thought it was brilliant last night. Sabine really is a fantastic character.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 307 ✭✭kellso81

'You can't keep trying to kill me JP' from Kingsley was brilliant. Anyone know if there's going to be another series after this?

Enjoyed this whole series, it was just a treat to watch each week!

Love that Josie got herself a hareem and the "In case you were wondering, I am Hannah Montana" from Sabine.

Will miss this when the season ends next week.

I'd imagine there will have to be. It's very popular and hasn't dipped in quality.

I hope there's a new series! How long can they be "Fresh Meat" though? First 2 series were 1st year, I suppose they could split 2nd year over 2 series too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,793 ✭✭✭FunLover18

Bit of a downer to end the season on (apart for Canard/Howdice obviously)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,073 ✭✭✭sok2005

Yeah, I felt a bit morose after last night episode. Really hoping we get another season, it's true though they cant stay in college forever. They could be fresh meat in the workplace I suppose at a stretch! They could do a Workaholics style series!

I think they're splitting second year into two series again.

    Poor sad Josie :(

I've never heard such an emotional speech about wanting to go to Thailand to eat noodles.

I do kind of love the idea of JP and Josie though :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

I started watching this way back when it came out and watched up until episode 6. For some reason I stopped and only just picked it up again about 2 weeks ago and finished it last night just the few years later :pac:

Not sure why I wasn't really fond of it at the time but I though it's been brilliant and was a delight to watch it all the way through now anyway.

Do we know if there's another season coming? Wikipedia says there's nothing confirmed as of yet for either another season or a film spin off.

^ Charlotte Richie, who plays Oregan, said recently that everyone wants to do another series but everyone is so busy so it may be difficult to get everyone free at the same time.

Ah ****!! I just assumed a fourth series had gone ahead. I was fully expecting this back in October some time … Balls!

Just finished this up to last series there. It's amazing. JP amazing. To get that level of consistency and such an amazing supporting cast, as well a brillant directing and scripting is a rare thing.

Really hope Series 4 is announced soon.

    Here's hoping!
Read recently that a 4th series will be filmed next year..
Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, the creators of Channel 4's Fresh Meat, have confirmed they are working on a fourth series of the show.

Although they have previously expressed the desire to write at least six series of the univerity-set comedy drama, the future of the programme has until now remained unclear.

However, speaking to Mustard Magazine about their plans for 2015, the writers confirmed: "We're doing both Fresh Meat and Peep Show next year."

Series 3 of Fresh Meat aired in November and December 2013. It focused on the second year of the Manchester-based students, with Jack Whitehall's character of JP now acting as their landlord.

The concluding episode saw Oregon going head to head against Vod in the Student Union elections, Josie and Kingsley trying to sort out their relationship, and Howard building up the courage to ask Candice out. Series 4 is expected to re-join the action at the start of the next term.

Whitehall, along with Joe Thomas, Charlotte Ritchie, Kimberley Nixon, Zawe Ashton and Greg McHugh are the main stars of the show, however it is currently unknown whether they will all return.

It should be noted that Channel 4 has yet to make any official comment on there being another series of the show.

Since the end of Series 3, Jack Whitehall has starred in the third and final series of his BBC sitcom, Bad Education; Charlotte Ritchie has taken a lead role in BBC Three's Siblings; Joe Thomas has starred in The Inbetweeners 2; Kimberley Nixon appeared in Sky Arts' The Dog Thrower; Zawe Ashton has filmed forthcoming new comedy drama Cut; and Greg McHugh has taken on various roles, including a part in the 2015 football film Kicking Off.

McHugh also made a cameo appearance in Channel 4's recent Feeling Nuts Comedy Night, in character as Fresh Meat's Howard McGregor. Jack Whitehall was hosting the charity gala programme to raise awareness of testicular cancer.

Meanwhile, following a successful pilot broadcast in February, Bain and Armstrong's police-based comedy drama Babylon returns to Channel 4 for a full series on Thursday 13th November.

Writers' Guild Of Great Britain Awards. Image shows from L to R: Sam Bain, Jesse Armstrong. Image credit: WGGB.The writers (pictured) were speaking to Mustard to talk about the final series of Peep Show, which they also created and write.

Asked whether they were finishing the sitcom - starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb - because it was reaching its natural end, or because they were too busy with other projects, the writers said: "It's a bit of both, to be honest. Yeah, we do have Fresh Meat, we have Babylon. Three series up and running is a lot. We're doing both Fresh Meat and Peep Show next year, which is hard, and we don't want to enter nervous breakdown territory."

Continuing to discuss the end of Peep Show, they added: "Also, we're all scared about doing a rubbish series. We don't want the standards to drop, we want to keep the stories fresh, and there are only a finite amount of stories you can tell about any character; it's not ever going to go on forever. With the shows that do go on forever, often you see a drop of quality, which is sad for the big fans of the show, right?"

The writers spoke further in the interview about how they haven't yet decided how the comedy should conclude, and talked about whether fans will get to see characters like Sophie returning, and their desire to work with Mitchell & Webb on further projects.

Zawe Ashton has been cast in a new HBO pilot which is filming in Boston right now. I wonder how they'll fit the filming for Fresh Meat in around that?

    Just finished this.

JP is incredible. Up there with my all-time favourite characters.

Howard is a close second. I'm delighted that he has found Candice. I hope they stay together.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Kingsley and Josie.

I don't particularly care for Vod or Oregon.

Did anyone else watch "My Parents are Aliens" when they were younger? Prof. Shales was the dad in that. I had some shock when I saw his antics in this series :P

I just discovered this on Netflix in the past week and it is the funniest UK show Ive seen since The Thick Of It. No surprise that Jesse Armstrong is heavily involved in both.

What a wonderful find! That's my Netflix viewing sorted for the next couple of weeks so.

    There's also this fabulous creature

Best characters would be jointly this guy

And Josie, when she wasnt been a bit of a cúnt ;)

    fresh_meat_josie_s2_2.jpg

The writers definitely gave them both the best lines. Vod was good too.

    Cannot reccommend this show enough!

My favourite Josie line was "That's what they said about Jesus" when yer woman told her she wasn't coming back. I laughed heartily at that one :D

New season is due soon I think? It seems to be gone from Netflix which is a pity as I was thinking of a rewatch before it returns.

I was literally only Googling this on Friday. Not much about it. Stuff from Jack Whitehall where he said filming was due to take place in early 2015 but not a whole lot since. Must have a check of Twitter or something. Must be soon though. Can't wait!

They've already finished film it all, months ago. Any of the cast on twitter who are asked about it say they don't have any idea of when it'll be on.

I last saw Jack Whitehall host the BAFTA LA awards, he was very funny at that.
