Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone got their solar system re-gassed?

I was reading through the solar panel litreture the other night and saw the system is due to be re gassed a month ago!
i had noted that this has been an exceptionally bad summer for hot water and i thought it was mainly due to lack of actual sunlight as we have flat panels which aren't as good as the tubes in low light conditions.
Anyway has anyone else got this done?
    Was it a costly service?
    Thanks

Re-Gassed? Sounds like a poor translation. I suspect you mean drained, and refilled. There is a need to replace the antifreeze fluid every five years, and you would re-pressurise the system at that stage as well, but this would not affect summer performance.

If your system pressure has not changed, then there is nothing that should affect performance. However, you should check your antifreeze - particularly if your system regularly allows the panel to go into a high temperature stagnation (as this damages antifreeze). Getting it changed is a 1 to 2 hour job and the materials costs about €50.
