    Meh.....

Hardly worth the mysterious posters, the countdown, the map etc.

If it were on the albums actually 30 year anniversary, maybe they could be justified, but approaching the 31 year mark of the album's release, GTFO.

I'll order the remastered Appetite, then I'm ending whatever interest I have in the band until whenever Axl feels like releasing the mythical unicorn of a new Guns album.

So has there been an official announcement?

When/where can we get this remaster? Surely there'll be at least some touring to support/cash in on it?

Yeah, I thought it was earlier, thought (hoped!) I was missing something.

Personally, I don't care if it's remastered - it rules the roost as it is.

So that means I've to cough up nearly 200 quid to get the unreleased stuff? Or a grand for the vinyl one?

    Hmm.

    Hmm.

    Hmm.

You'd have to have cash to burn to afford the Locked N' Loaded Box, not to mention whatever postage & packaging charges on top of it.

I know this is GNR but you'd have to wonder why it took them so long to get something like this out. I mean, it's not like they didn't know the 30th anniversary was approaching or anything! Maybe they were too busy focusing on the tour.

The Locked n'Loaded box thing is off the scale. I can just imagine ordering it, waiting with tremendous excitement and then it arrives only to think 'Did I really fork out the guts of a grand for this??' There's something obscene about it but it's kind of hilariously over the top. That's GNR for you. I've never seen a box set with that much stuff in it. Anyway time to start saving for the Super Deluxe version :)

I’m disappointed at the price tag. It’s not like any of them need the money after what the last tour made for them.

Just had a listen to that version of Shadow of your love and I actually prefer the old version tbh, sounds over produced.

AFD is in my top 3 albums of all time but it's one of the few that doesn't need a remaster, sounds as good today as it did when it came out. There's not really a lot new in that set, certainly not enough to splash out nearly a grand on it!

I'd bet money it has been given a 2018 sheen alright. Mostly the guitars. I will never ever tire of Steven's drumming though. On SOYL it's like a machine gun at times. I was listening earlier to Velvet Revolver and Matt Sorum sounded like he was banging a saucepan with a spoon.

I like Sorum but he's a classic tub thumper, none of the groove that Adler has that gave AFD era GNR their unique sound.

I can't believe they've managed to remaster and re release my absolute favourite album ever - at last - and I'm underdwhelmed.

All I want is the demos and that, and I can't get them for less that 200 odd quid?

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,990 ✭✭✭✭Lithium93_

While it's great hearing them re-record an old song, I really wish it was actual new stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,301 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I see that one in a million is cut off the remastered stuff. I know axl said he didn't want it on lies and look at your game girl on TSI, but they are still there on the albums I have.

Some people on a certain GNR message board got into an awful state over the fact it's not on the remastered stuff is a joke.

How much more encouragement does Axl want? Sooner it ends the better, or maybe the album with AC/DC will be the kick up the backside he needs..

I'll be happy out once Slash's new solo album with Myles & The Conspirators is released in September.

Axl will do what Axl wants to do. I've given up thinking of GNR as a normal band in terms of Album releases and other stuff.

I didn't know that. I always thought it was Axl that sneaked look at your game girl onto TSI.

When we were 'kids' in the 90s, just one of our mates had a car, now we were mainly Ska and kinda Mod heads.. But he had a Guns & Roses tape and whenever we went well anywhere over 20miles we'd stick Guns & Roses on.. If I tell you we didn't rock that bloody car of the road then it's only because we were blinded and shocked with the singing and roaring we all did belting it down the road.. They were geniuses and no matter what genre you were!? Well you gotta love Guns & Roses.

Yeah he's stated he wanted to stop OIAM and Look on your game girl from being on future copies of GNR lies and TSI. He probably did sneak look at your game girl onto that album, but he's changed his mind it appears.

Duff looked like death warmed up on that tour. Then again his pancreas burst only months later so no wonder!
