100 MB broadband - what to do with it?

Well lads, I have 100mbps broadband but it just doesn't seem like I'm using it to it's full potential.

Torrents' speeds are determined by the number of seeders (for downloading poetry, of course) and not the connection, and I've heard of Usenet (again for poetry) but you need to pay for a server etc.

So, is there anything I can do online with a connection of this speed?

    Thanks!

Isn't that why people get 100Mb?

    :pac:

Another unseedy thing (see what i did there) it would be good for is awesome on-line gaming, you'd get that bit of advantage alrite

Not necessarily. You wouldn't be able to use the excess speed, so your ping would be more important. You could have 100mbps broadband, but if your ping is 200ms then good luck killing the guy on 1mbps with a ping of 20ms.

Anything you download will be faster.

HD videos, software updates (that 2gb game patch will go really fast now), etc... The "richer" the content, the more usage you'll get out of your connection speed.

I'm getting 150mb on monday and i'm looking forward to streaming HD matches if possible, Also i'm going to pay for rapidshare so i can download my poetry a lot faster. And just a more sleek browser experience altogether.

Plus i can brag about my amazing connection obviously. :pac:

[pedant]It's also illegal to download poetry [or ANY material under copyright] without consent of the copyright holder[/pedant]

    Just saying, is all.

    150mb? Nice. Who's the ISP?

Have you heard of Usenet? I heard it's great for downloading poetry as it enables you to utilise your full download speed. With your connection, you'll be swimming in the poetry and be an intellect in no time.

Nah open-source poetry, the poetry whereby it's copyright has expired of course.

Remember to use a 1000mbps network card to gain full potential or 802.11n

Enough with the thinly disguised comments on illegal downloading. Discuss the broadband product, not what you're going to do with it. I've already closed one thread on this topic, if this continues in the same vain then that will be the end of it, permanently.
