Went to the event in The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon last night and had a wonderful evening of storytelling, songs, local history...........and..........the best of all - a demonstration of a sheep being sheared the old way - with hand clippers. There are very few people around in Ireland who are able to do this now! The shearing was done most skilfully and the sheep was perfectly at home and relaxed throughout and didn't seem to mind being in a room with many people watching! While this was going on a lady was spinning wool with a hand spindle. Pure magic!
