whats the difference in these ???

cyclone
typhoon
twister
tornado
tropical depression
tropical storm

was watching someting on discovery , they were saying they call them hurricanes around america , typhoon around asia and japan , and cyclone somewhere else ?
is there any difference in the above ? or do they all form the same way and just have a different name ?

and i put in the other few above also , if someone could explain the main differences between them it would be great , and im sure theres others that might be interested to know.....

Hurricane, cyclone and typhoon are the same thing depending on location.
Tropical storm and tropical depression is like a weaker form of any of theses, that has not reached the strength to be called a hurricane/typhoon/cyclone.

Twisters and tornados are completely different . . .See here.
