Don't worry about this at all... in our group we regard a small weight gain like this as "floating" - if you stick to the plan 100%, this and some more will be gone next week! Well done on your amazing progress this far! :D

Thanks new2tri! I didn't get to stay to group yesterday so it's great to have been able to have my little moan and get good advice on this thread, ye're all great!

I was up a pound yesterday, not surprised as there was a lot of socialising done Thursday, fri, hen party in Kilkenny on sat and kids Halloween disco on Sunday. Was very good with the food but did have a few drinks too many. I have a pretty cleR run to Christmas now so expect to lose each week, have sped up the walking also.

Good luck to all. Don't worry dee Mac, you will loose it next week, keep up the good work!!!

In my group if someone has a gain after a bit of a heavy social week the leader asks 'But did you enjoy it? You did? Well that's the main thing'!!! And it sounds like you enjoyed it, so what harm ;)

    My update:

Weighed in last night and I did a LOT of exercising at the weekend so thought I may have had a good result.. I lost 0.5 lb. I felt quite disappointed as I felt I had really tried. Sometimes I feel that it is better to do little (or no) exercise and just focus on the food.

You can do it dee_mc and clappyhappy! Next week will be your week!

I could have written this post myself Vahevala !! I did way more body magic than usual stuck to plan 100% , went to weigh in and lost one lb , i know i should be grateful for the loss but ive had weeks where ive had pig outs and done little or no body magic and lost more ..... Our bodies are strange strange things. On the plus side though i think im toning up a little. My wobbly bits don't seem to wobble as much these days.

I always found with exercise that I saw the gain a week after? Not sure if that's just me ?!

I've been following this for ages but haven't been following sw! I've been terrible food wise. Am trying to get back into sw plan without going to the class as I don't like them ( too long ). Is anybody else following sw from home, or is online worth the money?

can you go to different classes or does it have to be the same each week?

You can attend any class by the same leader in the same venue, if that makes sense. For example I usually go at 11:30 on a Wednesday but have the choice of 7:30pm on the Tuesday, or 9:30, 3:30, 5:30 or 7:30 on the Wednesday also...
I don't think you can attend your regular class in Cork but go to one in Dublin one week (as an example) but I'm open to correction :)

You can attend any class any time as long as u bring your card. We have had people in our group who were on holiday from the other end of the country. If u missed weigh in and there is another local group that suits u, u can turn up and be weighed no probs.

That's good to know, I feel like I'm confined to barracks a bit! I can spread my (bingo) wings now!

Good luck, it's a great feeling! I'd recommend making sure you have a highlighter and some post its or sticky index thingys so that you can find your favourite foods etc in the SW book you'll be given - doing this really helped me for the first few weeks!
    Enjoy your 'super first week'!

Aw thanks! I have a good bit to go but hopefully this is the first step to success ^_^

Does anyone know any websites with good recipes?

Started on Thursday and I'm trying really hard! I'm so worried I'm not eating enough superfree foods. Had 11.5 syns day 1, 6.5 day 2, and 2 syns yesterday. My analytic nature has me worrying about it all the time! I did make a pretty mean quiche on Saturday though with a grated sweet potato crust :D
Also, I feel like I'm going to spend a small fortune on food following this.. Am I doing something wrong!

I thought that too re spending loads on food, but I haven't eaten out since I started on September 1st, so I've probably saved about 50 euro on cake alone since then (I was under the impression that you couldn't order coffee without cake, once or twice a week, oopsie!) and at least 15 euro a week on a takeaway or meal out, so on balance I'd say I could be spending slightly less on food even though I spend more in the supermarket and at the fruit and veg stall! Aldi Super 6 is brilliant and Lidl has great value on cherry tomatoes, peppers etc. The multipacks of Mullerlights are quite good value. If only one of the supermarkets would put Frylight on special offer!

I'm dreading weigh in today. I literally feel ten tonne for the last few days. I've had an ok week but I had a bag of chips on Saturday night and I'm still disgusted with myself. A couple of days last week I made no dinner just had a sandwich instead as the kitchen was being done up and I couldn't get near the cooker. I feel like absolute crap and am so mad at myself for not being more prepared. And to top it all off it happened to be the time of the month for me which for the first time in years I really suffered with terrible stomach and lower back pains. I feel heavier today than when I started an wouldn't be surprised if the scales reflected that tonight.

    Sorry for the moan everyone.

I know that feeling! Cut yourself some slack though, you had a lot of upheaval this week and you've already identified that you need to be more organised, so start with a clean slate and do some cooking for the freezer so that you'll have something SW friendly to reach for next time you're hungry under pressure! Those mug shot things are super handy to have in the store cupboard too, they're not my cup of, um, soup but some people love them!
    You're doing really
Oh, and when I'm feeling like a ten tonne Tessie it's usually because I'm retaining water, especially at 'that' time of the month, and drinking more water really helps :)

It might seem that way at first because you're probably spending more on your "main" shop for the week but its saved us a fortune since we started it about 7/8 weeks ago. No take-aways, no spending €6-8 a day on lunch/snacks (per person) etc etc

Hey can anyone give me some ideas for lunches to bring to work? Easy enough stuff to make would be great, I'm guessing this is going to be my biggest downfall :/ That and trying to drink more water

Do you have access to a microwave at work? You could make an extra portion of your dinners and reheat leftovers for lunch. Or if not then cold pasta salad, or a sandwich or wrap using your healthy extra b, plus a muller light and some fruit.

I do have access to a microwave, just have to fight to get to it :P I want to steer away from leftovers as Ill just end up eating a second dinner when I go home  Wrap a muller light and fruit might be a good idea! Thanks!!

You must work where I work! 10 mins queuing today to bake my jacket potato- worth the wait though... although I did feel bad hogging it for 8 mins!

As far as I know a wrap can't be used as your healthy B choice - they're high in syns.
Instead of a sandwich I have Scan Bran crispbreads (you can buy them at group), Philadelphia lightest mini tub, cooked meat (usually beef or a chicken breast baked with lemon juice and Cajun spice), salad, fruit and a mullerlight as a snack.
Soup in a Thermos flask is great too, or the mug shot things (you'd need extra protein and superfree fruit or veg to make it a meal), I'm going to have a go at crustless mini quiches soon just for something different.
Lunches are hard for me as I only have a kettle and no actual lunch break, so quick snacky bites are the order of the day!

There is one type of wrap that counts as HExB, the brand is bFree. Dunnes stock them.

But thats ok, if your dinners are syn free? You can still have leftovers and a dinner, if they are SW recipes and you are having your superfree with them.

Thats the beauty of this plan, you can eat plenty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,284 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

I've had my biggest losses when lunched have been leftovers. As long as your superfree is included, it's all good

Well just after being weighed and I was down 1lb. I'm happy because I expected a gain. Definitely going to have a better week this week! Feeling better already!
