GM free food is the safest and most reliable in the long run.

The Forum on Spirituality has been closed for years. Please bring it back, there are lots of Spiritual people in Ireland and elsewhere.

That we are a non-GM country may be part of the appeal. GM can result in cross-polination so every crop becomes GM.

Rather than just flinging out link to CIA factbook would it not be useful commenting how most of the large industry/services enterprises in this country are actually foreign owned and in the case of some financial services are here almost just as PO Box to avail of cheap corporation tax ?

Do the GDP figures not include the contribution made by foriegn multinationals based in this country and might it not be 20% higher than our GNP ?

Most if not all of the companies involved in the agri sector are Irish owned and Irish based.
Ireland's largest and most successful enterprises are agri related bar maybe the likes of CRH and Ryanair.
We have very sucessful mutlinationals such as the Kerry Group, IAWS (before it merged with Swiss company Hiestand Holding AG), Glanbia.

They are not just here for a few years to avail of government grants and low corporation tax regimes.
It would be more interesting to look at the output/income of Irish owned indigenous enterprises and then comment what proportion of that is from the agribusiness.
Then you would really see what a contribution the agri business makes to our economy.

I am not allowed discuss …
