Imagine that dark blob keeping its energy by the time it got to us!?!.... I never seen that colour on it before! Its doesnt even correlate with a strong low or anything... thoughts people?

I know we're delving slightly off topic with regards FI but the current GFS solution for that low brings it over us.

Actually now that I look at it again that blob stays put. That low over us is related to the same disturbance causing that blob.

would worst case scenario of that bring floods as bad or worse as a few weeks ago?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,134 ✭✭✭✭maquiladora

Regardless of rain, that low on the 06Z GFS looks like a serious windstorm for the Scotland/ Northeast England and parts of Ulster if that were to verify.

Track and intensity will change (maybe a lot), but worth keeping an eye on.

What day should this be taking place?

Oh, well, I'll be first then....

Meh. Pub run doesn't count unless I want it too! And by the law of averages it'll be back in the 00z, and I'll conveniently ignore it's disappearance again in the 06z!!!

    Selective model reading ftw!! Mwahahahaha . . . .

Well in fairness thats a decent run for this time of year anyway, regardless of how mild it has been.

Anyone able to post up the chart thingy to see if this run was an outlier ?

Decent for some frost ;) i gave up on north/north westerlies for snow a long time ago :D easterly please for us in the sunny south east :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 130 ✭✭only one

Would the south east get snow from this ?

A week of easterlies before christmas last year gave me 1.0cm snow . . .actually only 0.5cm of that came from an easterly the other 0.5cm came from a northerly!

I'll take my chances with the northerly for now! The easterly cold is too far away at the moment to be of any use, wait til it gets to scandi properly.
