Urgent Laptop Request

Hi all,

Friends laptop has died on her and she needs one for college on Monday. Her budget is €500 euro and she needs to buy it in a physical store. She will be doing video, word processing, 3d work and Photoshop.

Are there any bargains out there for something with an i5, dvd burning capabilities, 4GB+ RAM, a decent GFX card, no number pad, and 320GB+ space? I know I'm asking a lot but I've come close on Argos, but nothing else has come up.

Same spec as the first link above, perfect for everday use, free delivery to her door. I know you say physical store, so it can be delivered to their depot in Blanch and picked up and paid for by Laser.

If I was getting one, it'd be http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=MME8650V78 - it's a very good i3, great HDD, decent graphics etc. Well futureproofed for all possible college needs, graphics may be overdoing it even if she doesn't play games.

You're reliant on delivery though and you need bricks and mortar but if that can be seen past there's decent deals out there.

I only bought in bricks and mortar because Harvey Norman knocked €100 off on the spot for me and even then i was probably overpriced- I'd be looking online for best prices. Amazon could have some decent gems if you have a peek (free delivery too and 2 working days in my experience).

Edit: just had a peek at HN's sub-€500 laptops and they're all best avoided.
