    Master of the Universe

Mortal Kombat's fatalities had nothing on Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side on the Mega CD.

Check out this video. They're excellent! :)

    Street Fighter 2 always

Street Fighter II was amazing. And not even the console ones, but the stand up games with the joy stick in the chipper.
I used to go in for a game about 2 mins before secondary school finished and I'd pick Chun Li. All of the big boys would come down and I'd hammer them for an hour till they fecked off home*. Talk about moneys worth

*sometimes they'd carry me away from the game and hang me on a coathook though

    Must be Sonic

The music alone, this is so nostalgic it will bring you to tears

doesnt come close to this though

or this, actually Donkey Kong Country needs more love, one of the best platformers ever.

Streets of Rage music, yes. Tis actually my ringtone.

In response to the OP, I've had this debate many times with the gf, but Sonic destroys Crash.

And to whoever said CTR is better than Mario Kart.....you are wrong!

Might download the game for the PC on the SEGA emulator thing...

If anyone needs proof Mario has always had the best themes, both tracks below are stunning pieces of video game music, be nice to yourself and have a listen:

1.25 on, I played this level about 5 times in a row just to hear that section the first time

    However; Crash Team Racing ROCKS.

That game was just ridiculous amounts of fun! The graphics in it really appealed to me too :)

    Ah I can't choose!

IIRC, you had to complete Sonic all in one go on the Sega coz you couldn't save it? At least that was the way with mine. I'd love to have the Sega again for Sonic and Robocop.

I loved Crash Bandicoot on the PS1. I'd like to see it out on the Wii. It's seems more of a gimmicky type game that would suit the Wii than PS3 or XBox360.

In saying that...Spyro was crap on the Wii.

I'm not voting on this poll coz I can't choose!

To be honest there isn't going to be a "winner".

Sonic is for the 80's generation and crash is for the 90's,everybody has their favorite game,i remember i got a mega drive for Christmas one year and the only game i got with it was sonic,i don't think i left the house for about a month.

All the old consoles are like the old cartoons,we loved them as kids and now we are older we probably love the more because its something that reminds us of our childhood and simpler times.Oh and i was born in 1980 :)

Sonic 1 came out in 1991, Crash Bandicoot in 1996 so theres not that much of a gap between them, seemed like ages apart in console terms though.

the ps1 came out 16 years ago, that is fcuked up, we're ooooold!

Sorry i meant people who were born in the early 80's were more likely to play sonic than crash.
