What do you think about this -

    Taylor - Webster, most 180s TIE - 6/1
    Wade - Smith, most 180s TIE - 9/2
    Dolan - Henderson, most 180s TIE - 9/2

Works out at roughly 200/1! And I don't think its as improbable as the odds suggest it is.

Put it this way, how many matches so far this week have been tied for 180's? Now remember this is longer format than previous rounds, makign it more improbable that the 180s with be equal.

    I'd say its very improbable

No idea how many tie's there have been mate but I know that in alot of the matches over the last couple days there hasn't been more than one or two 180s seperating the players by the end of it.

I'm not saying its gonna win, I'm saying @ 200/1 I think its definitely worth a few euros.

I was in the shop earlier and seen some chap fork out six quid on a Euromillions ticket, I was like "don't be a mug pal, if you're gonna gamble with a six euro stake might aswell go up to Paddy's and do the following bet :P"

Just to let everyone know, Sky Sports are having a break in their coverage from 8:30pm to 9:45pm because there will be football on all four channels. This means that we will probably miss the Smith v Wade game but they won't start the Taylor v Webster game until they are back on the air.

On the plus side you will get to watch Ireland play Andorra for an 1hr 15mins ;)

Fair do's, each to their own. For the returns (100m), I think I'd rather take a chance on the lottery as I reckon its got about as much chance as the 180 ties the night :)

btw - thanks for the reminder, I gotta go put some money in my online account for tonights euromillions :D Tell ya what, if I win the jackpot I'll give ya yer £200 ya lost out on from the 180s haha

Every feckin year this happens....at least this year they are not cutting off the darts for the bloody horse of the year show like they done before

saying that, norn iron & wales matches are pretty much meaningless anyway, probably only reason they are on is because sly sports have to fulfil their quota of games

Great win for Dolan over Big Hendo but the talking point again is the crowd! It's easy to know it's a friday night with the place near full capacity where as the last few nights it was about quarter full!

Disgraceful booing when Henderson was attempting to hit doubles. These morons are not darts supporters but eejits at the event to be seen on telly, get drunk and make a general nuisance of themselves,it was embarrassing to watch!

On to the game the best man won,Dolan took his opportunities when they came his way and fully deserved his victory. He faces James Wade in the semi final tomorrow night who defeated Andy Smith 4-2 tonight. Phil Taylor had a 101 average in a 4-0 win over Mark Webster, unreal darts again from the Power! Currently playing is Richie Burnett v Mark Hylton.

Richie Burnett wins 4-1 and plays Phil Taylor in tomorrow night's semi final. Great to see Burnett back to his best.

Absolutely delighted for Burnett:)... Taylor probably is a tall order tomorrow night but to see this man back at his best is great

Brendan Dolan has jumped up to 31st in the main PDC order of merit rankings and this has put him in prime position to qualify for the World Championship in December. He will climb even further if he beats Wade tonight.

Dolan's great week has meant Barrie Bates has dropped to 33rd and Denis Priestley has dropped to 34th in the main rankings and at this stage look likely to miss out on the World Championship.

a win tonight should also get Dolan into the GSOD

What a win for Dolan! Actually speechless! What a game, actually thought he'd bottled it in the first set. Delighted for him. Roll on tomorrow!

If Bendan Dolan isn't nominated for irish sportsperson of the year it's a farce. take a bow sir. you are an absolute legend. And by the way, whats this rugby everyone is talking about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭sham69

    Brilliant from Dolan
Can't see Burnett beating phil with the start he has had
Not impossible for Dolan to beat phil in the final, might have a bet on him.

Is he included in Irish sports stars seen as he is Northern Irish?

I suppose he can,Graeme Mcdowell won it last year and Darren Clarke won it before aswell.
Unfortunatley for Brendan he'll be up against Mcilroy and Clarke this year and the usual mix of jockeys, soccer players, footballers, boxers etc

    Brilliant Dolan!

Never a truer word spoken Showstopper, agree 100%. You'll find prima donna soccer players nominated I guarantee you that, its an absolute joke! Darts must be the most underrated game out there.

Brilliant display tonight by Brendan Dolan and the 9 darter was history in the making, the 1st one ever on TV in a double start tournament. What a great boost this is to Irish darts.

Nice one Des, enjoy it. I reckon the atmosphere will be absolutely incredible in there tonight.

What a performance from Dolan last night, I nearly hit the roof jumping up when he hit the 9 darter. What a story that is, an Irishman in Dublin is the first person to ever hit a 9 darter with double in. Then he managed to keep his composure and go on and win the match. Dolan has officially made himself an Irish sporting legend.

Unfortunately I think Taylor will be a step too far but you never know, Dolan has been underdog all week and I wouldn't put it past him to lift the trophy. Can't wait for it to start!!

    great start breaking Taylor's throw

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Dolan has to start with his first three darts, he struggled a little bit in that set.

I think he has to win this set with the throw and get the crowd really into the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,420 ✭✭✭electrobanana

id say Taylor's mad to do a 9 darter tonight it must be the only thing he hasn't done in darts yet

 He's achieved more televised 9 darters than any other player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭dionsiseire

Yeah but he's never done a double start 9 darter, only Brendan Dolan has done a double start 9 darter in a double in competition professionally

Taylor is very nervous and Dolan will never have a better chance to beat him. 3-2 in sets now with Dolan throwing first in this one

Lads Brendan Dolan is British and is certainly not representing the republic.

He'd take it because him being Irish makes for a much better story so he'll be paid well to do so and he's a smart man! ;)
