Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,

I wanted to buy the Defy 3 (first proper bike) but I was told by Cycle Super Store that the Lapierre Audacio 200 is better. I can't find many reviews about the Lapierre hence the thread.

The Lapierre is about €50 cheaper.

    What do ye guys think?

They really tried to sell me that bike too, I suspect they bought a shed load of them so are pushing the bike. it does seem decent value for money though

They really tried to sell me that bike too,

Also the Defy 3 is out of stock so I'd say that could be part of the reason as well.

It does. It could be the Skoda of bicycles :)

The lapierre has carbon forks. It has full Shimano drive train - shifters, rear & front mech, cassette and crankset. The Defy has not got carbon forks and has only some of the above shimano components.

If it was a nice bike to ride, I'd be choosing the lapierre.

Thanks reilig. I haven't taken it for a spin yet, just got fitted for it.

You could say that - they are the Irish distributor for the Lapierre brand, so it is in their interest that they sell well if they want to keep that!

i bought the audacio 400 last year as my first bike and have to say that it's served me well, even though it might not be the best specced bike in the world

def nicer bikes around though for that kind of money, but usually only if you buy online.
