Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I recently phoned ESB to setup a new account and was told I would need to set-up a direct debit or pay a €300 deposit. I opted for the DD and was a told I would receive a welcome pack including DD form.

    The first letter I received was dated 3 Sept and stated that I hadn't paid a security deposit and to maintain my credit rating and ensure continuation of my electricity supply I had to do so or sign up for DD. So I phoned ESB again and set-up DD over the phone. I was told there was an outstanding bill for Standing Charges, which I had never received, so I asked for a copy of the bill to be sent out. I understood it would be taken from my bank account.

    I received a DD confirmation, dated 13 Sept. And last week I received a bill for over €300 (for standing charges and deposit) which is Overdue. No money has been taken from my bank account yet.

    Could you please find out what is going on?

    I have similar problem with my direct debit. I signed up for DD and recieved a confirmation letter on the 28th of Sept. I subsequently recieved my first bill dated 5 Oct., and a letter saying my DD has been cancelled and that I have to pay the E300 security deposit. However this letter has a different account number than the account number on my bill. I want to know whats going on?
