Sandyford to Mullingar

    I am going down to Mullingar for the night on Saturday and want to cycle down what would you people think is the best way to get there.

    I do Sandyford-Mullingar quite often, My favourite route to avoid traffic (apart from the city part) is to Phoenix Park and then follow
    the attached http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/27910656

    At Killucan there is the choice of straight via Downes and N4, or right turn to Cloghan then left and in via the Delvin road

    My style of cycling is usually easygoing, That route has no climbs, just rolling countryside, my average speed for the trip (total 120 ml) was 15mph (24kph). I don't remember the time to Mullingar, at a guess it was about 3 1/2 hours, including say 15-20 mins for tea & sandwich at Centra in Killucan
