She has lived rent free for the last 14yrs, free holidays etc. How will she cope in the real world. I'm not a fan of hers.

Some rather awful gaffs, like comparing some in the North to Nazis.

Don't remember that. Strikes me that she could be onto something. Wacky Orange order member have some fierce anti-catholic views. There's lodges on every street corner in some parts.

Funny uniforms, marching, abhorrant views..... could be onto something alright.

    She's a Fianna Fáiler.

A great Gal she is a classy smart woman, with the common touch.

A credit to use. The same goes for the other Mary as well.

I just don't like her, find her false tbh.
Will she get paid after leaving office, will she still get security?

    Pretty much sheer indifference.

But not quiet indifferent enough to avoid posting in here.

I didn't really mind her - until she came out with the sexist stuff.

At least someone has moved on.

    Moved on!!
    Are you serious?

We still have the head of our republic bowing down to the head of a self appointed string of inbreds and you ask me have we moved on.

Enda appointed her husband to the Seanad so they still won't have to pay for staying somewhere.

A lovely, lovely woman, cant say enough about her.
She took the batton form a serious President and charged her way into our hearts.
Her soft spoken wisdom brought comfort to those of us who lived through the cold wind of change that brought the worst global econimic crises since 1921.
I can only imagine that Mrs. McAlesse will now be looking to turn her skills and professionalism towards some other role in the public intrest like becoming one of the Managers on Celebrity Bainisteoir or a judge on The All Ireland Talent Show.
    Once again thanks Mrs McAlesse.

I think she was a great president- the best thing FF did in the last 15 years was pick her instead of Albert.

    7 more years!

    Never heard much about/from her.
When the recession hit, did she make a statement?
When the banks collapsed did she make a statement/address the nation?
completely anonymous as far as I know.

That's my own opinion. I'm not asking you to agree with it. The question was about people's views. She did become less embarrassing as time went on though.

At the same time you won't explain your opinion?

Easily the best president we've ever had.

People speak highly of Mary Robinson but the only things of note that I can think of that she did, were outside of her years as President.

Can someone remind me of something significant/memorable that she did while Uachtarán?
