i Think this could have a tight enough ending, 2-0 nil maybe, That little bit of extra class will tell in the end.

Ive seen a few rovers games on the tv and they get great vocal support from there fans. If the Lane is in full voice then they are in for a treat.

How do you think you will set up, 4-5-1.

Our main focus should be not conceeding in the first 15. I think if we came out guns blazing Spurs would lap it up. Hopefully make it to half time 0-0, then make a few good substitutions and step up a gear. This is all a best case scenario.

EDIT, looks like Harry will be fielding a "stronger more experienced team" tomorrow.

It appears that way alright, with Lennon Pienaar and Rose all to feature. Gallas has had a setback and no mention of Pav who supposedly was injured last weekend. I wonder will he be involved?

Pav doesn't deserve to be involved after his last few shambolic displays. Let one of the young lads play instead of him. Hopefully a few of them will get some more chances.

Harry Redknapp reports that Aaron Lennon is fit and set to start against Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The winger has been sidelined by a groin problem since the home match against City on August 28.

"Aaron is fine and will play tomorrow," said Harry at Spurs Lodge on Wednesday morning.

"It will be great to have him back and if he gets through tomorrow, he could be available for the weekend."

There was good and bad news on the injury from the manager at his pre-match press conference.

As well as Aaron's return, Harry declared that both Danny Rose (knee) and Steven Pienaar (groin) were both back in the frame for our second group match.

"We have some lads coming back who need games like Aaron, Danny Rose has been out and he's fit and available, I'm also hoping Steven Pienaar will be fit to play a part.

"We've a stronger, more experienced team tomorrow and a chance to play some of the lads who didn't play at the weekend."

There was also good news on Michael Dawson, who suffered an Achilles injury in the build-up to the Wolves match on September 10.

"Michael Dawson is coming on well," said Harry. "I've been delighted with him. If there was ever a player who would get back quickly, it's Michael.

"He's out of the protective boot, will be jogging next week and is moving on quickly.

"Hopefully we'll see him back in a few weeks and that will be a real bonus for us. He's a fantastic professional."

The down side is that Tom Huddlestone requires ankle surgery and William Gallas has picked up another calf problem.

"Tom's going back to have another operation on his ankle, going back to the specialist," reported Harry. "It looks long-term and that's a blow for him.

"William had a calf strain that kept him out for a long time, he got over that, came back last week and felt the other calf. He's had a bit of a setback."

Probably empty home seats but should be a good atmosphere with a lot of Hoops fans over for the game. I was at home games for FC Copenhagen and Belgrade matches in Tallaght and the atmosphere was brilliant and I'm sure the fans will relish the occasion.

Slightly mixed emotions and my only hope is Spurs don't run riot on Rovers defence. In my opinion, Murray is a serious liability who possesses a turn of pace similar to a 40yr old THudd.

Rohan Ricketts will be looking to get one over on us too, had a good game at the weekend!

If we do play a strong (of sorts) team I could see it being a hammering TBH. What Rovers really need to do to have a shot is not show too much respect to spurs. They'll be fired up no doubt so I can't imagine that being a problem but if they stand off the likes of Lennon I'd say he'll make mince meat of them.

I think the respect bit is key and I dont see them giving us to much respect for a minute. they have come through some tough ties to get here, played in front of big crowds and it didnt phase them so cant see it happening this time. As for Ricketts what an opportunity for a fairytale return to an old club, knowing football might even be worth a fiver for a goal. Still think we will have to much especially if Lennon/Pinnear and a few are playing but will be close.

Wishing I'd gotten an earlier flight now.

think we will win well tbh now that lennon piennaar might be playing, love to see us go to town on them , danny murray at the heart of their defence fills me with confidence , even pav might score against him:D

Yeah I am probably being over cautious but the underdog tag in football is always a dangerous one. As for Pav, saying nothing.

Got an itinerary from a rovers fan yesterday who is going by coach to the game, leaving at 12.00 from Tallaght last night, arrive in London at about 11 today, collected after game back to covent garden, back on the bus and arrive back in Tallaght at 12.00 tomorrow. Drinking allowed on the bus at certain times. They will be in ribbons getting to the ground

7/1 for the draw tonight on PP? Worth €5 maybe.

Honestly I think I would buy a pint with fiver but decent odds. Think that shows what the bookies think. What odds ricketts for an anytime goal?

If we're talking about the football here then theres only one way Rovers can play. 4-5-1 with Kilduff up front. Fair enough, Twigg gets his few goals in the League but when he comes up against any decent standard of defender, he looks like he's running in treacle.

We don't have a striker classy enough to worry any Spurs defence with sheer ability so the only option is Kilduff purely because of his height and pace. He'll be a nuisance. And 15 league goals last year playing in a UCD side that could have been relegated is not to be sniffed at, he can finish if he gets the chance.

If we need a goal late on, Sheppard can be thrown on but under no circumstances should Gary Twigg be let near the pitch tonight. Anyone agree?

how this ne will pan out... had a comfortable win in Edinburgh but Rovers will offer a greater test imho. Think the occasion will definitely lift their play. I cheered them on when they qualified eventhough I am not from Tallaght; or Dublin for that matter... If Lennon plays I think it will be an easy win... but there's always the risk of complacency; plus one eye on Sunday...

think you are on the money really. I think Bassong can be gotten at if he is physically put under pressure and Kilduff will do that but the one question I have is that is playing one up top going to end up with him being completely isolated and bring constant pressure onto the rovers defence. If so can they withstand this over 90.

Would it be a better option to play a type of 4 - 4- 1 -1 so at least he gets support. whomever was playing behind him would want to have some engine because Spurs will keep the ball for long periods, probably more so than any other team you have faced competitively so far?

I wouldnt be hanging my hat on lennon unless he got some crossing coaching whilst out injured, maybe he watched a lot of dvds of good crossers of the ball.:D

I don't think we can afford to play a midfielder in an attacking role. If we end up playing like we did against Kazan then the Jack Charlton long ball will come out of the locker and he'd be bypassed anyway. I think we'd be much better off playing a 4-1-4-1 and using the holding midfielder as a shield defensibly and also as a middle man going forward to enable us to play on the floor going forward.

And tonight is the last chance I'm giving Dennehy. I'm not a fan of Aidan McGeady and therefore I'm not a fan of the poor man's McGeady. If he starts pussy footing around, trying to beat the full back 4 times before putting his cross in etc., I'll end up pulling out the very little hair I have left...

Spurs looking at this as a warm up game to give previously injured players a run out. Rovers are going to look at this as a one off cup final, winner takes all which is the right attitude for them. Expect Rovers to give a good account of themselves and wouldn't be surprised if they nicked it 1-0.

that would an option and will allow someone to support the loan striker. "the poor mans mcgeady" great tag line. If BAE or Rose are playing left full he wont get 3/4 chances to cross the ball, he will get one if even and if he loses it esp Rose is quick and will leave him standing. Intriguing game I think. From a spurs point of view the main worry is heart, surely the rovers players will put everything on the line and more, question is will it be enough. Sure its great to be even talking about it.
