    My Engineer wants tocharge the following..... am I being screwed??

    Inspection of Land...20minutes......€800

    Court attendance, for which he spent a half day and wasnt needed..€800

    Survey of Property and preparation of report... €1050

    6 Drawings .....€91.50

    66 [EMAIL="photographs@€3.40"]photographs 3.40[/EMAIL] EACH....€222.40

    €3588.74 total

    Help anyone??

    did you win, if yes should the other party not pay?
    if you lost, outline what you've written here and ask for an explanation and if any compromise can be reached on price..
    BTW for court you really need to be prepared, what if he had lost you the court case because he had not been thorough?

    What was agreed? Hard to tell when no detail of whats involved. Generally, If reports are going to end up in court you will be charged more for this as the report will come under examination.

    €800 for the inspection looks harsh but was a report produced on the basis of the inspection?

    In relation to the Court, its not his fault he wasnt needed. IF he attended as requested he should be paid.

    The only two that look reasonable are the court appearance and the survey.

    Photographs is a complete joke. Ask for a CD and print yourself. Drawings (assuming A1 - a joke. Again ask for CD and print your or go to one of many printers and you'll get this done for €50 MAX!

    Surely to survey the site, he'd have to inspect it so those two costs should be rolled into the one. But perhaps he's done more than I am thinking so in fairness I think you should elaborate on purpose of inspection.

    There i've just saved you a fortune!
