Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Curling is brilliant. Anything on ice not involving dancing or Disney is brilliant.

Has to be Hurling or Cricket. Both aren't that exciting from what I have seen.

Oddly enough, among the only sports that I can enjoy watching.

Football bores the piss out of me.

All sports suck, it seems like time slows to a crawl whenever its on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,930 ✭✭✭Jimoslimos

    Running, especially long distance/marathon.

Just about manage not to nod off watching Usain Bolt though;)

And cycling - ffs its not a team sport unless the bikes are connected by invisible wires

Lower league soccerball is painfull to watch.

Rugby Union is the best sport to watch.

Hurling is an incredibly skilled sport.

At least with golf you get some nice view...

    Winner has to be cricket

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,940 ✭✭✭4leto

I know you wont believe me, because even I would rather watch Neighbours

But if you get into Cricket it is meant to be brilliant to watch. I have 2 colleagues (Irish) who watch it fanatically.

I don't get the kink either, but one keeps saying give it a chance.

I'm gonna buck the trend here and keep my prejudices to myself. If it catches on, it could be the death of AH.

Without reading the tread, I'll bet orourkeda has already said "rugby".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,653 ✭✭✭Ghandee

When you don't have a bet on, horse racing on the tv kinda sucks.

I really dislike watching rugby.. I've tried to like it because most other people seem to be interested in it but I just don't naturally like it. And yes, I know the rules :p

Least tedious sport to watch in my opinion is top class football, followed by hurling.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,297 ✭✭✭Jaxxy

I'd watch almost any sport, but have to say I just don't "get" the appeal of cricket.

IMO hurling is very exciting to watch and can't understand why others find it boring! But then again everything is subjective I suppose.

    Don't.

Seriously, any sport that can last three days for one match should be banned. And any sport that can shorten this to 'one day tests' to make things more exciting should be wiped from our collective memories for sheer idiocy.

The thing is I love sport so I can actually get into any sport, during the olympics i watch as much as I can in any category.

Someone posted cycling and track cycling they're my favourite Olympic events, so it really is horses for courses.

But I am not that much into Soccer now, not as much as I use to be, but I will still watch it.

Baseball is terribly boring, the people at the games barely even seem to be watching or care half the time, and the amount of adverts is insane

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,420 ✭✭✭Dionysus

Saturation coverage British soccer blaring in the local pub where you just want a quiet pint and a good chat. And to top it off you have these drones talking about all the rubbish connected to it any chance they can get at every venue they can find.

Same old shít, different day. Boring beyond words.

Gotta admit that I love it. But I can understand how even fans can get bored. Teams play 162+ games per year each game lasting approx 3hours. Fatigue must really hit in towards the end of the season.
Homer tries to take his mind off his troubles at the ball park, where
he is the only person in the stands not drinking.

Announcer: ...the windup and a 2-2 pitch. Oh, no, wait a minute, the
batter is calling for time. Looks like he's going to get
himself a new bat. And now there's a beach ball on the
field, and the balls boys are discussing which one of them's
    	   going to go get it.
Homer: [only one not drinking] I never realized how boring this
    	   game is.
    -- A rude awakening, "Duffless"

There is nothing, NOTHING, more tedious than 90 minutes of football with a 0-0 result.

TBH, the interest levels only marginally increase when you introduce a goal or two. :o
