    Hi,

Im wondering if anyone has any details on a legit backlinking service to improve a websites rankings?

Im afraid to use them as I have seen first hand the spam some of them post on others sites and I dont want our name associated with that!

The site I run is joomla based and I recently bought iJoomla SEO and that has helped some bit but I want to drive our page on to at least the 1st page of search results on google and bing for certain keywords.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks,
    Fionn

fionny, I would be really cautious to use backlinking service.
It is always better to build up your links gradually rather then too fast.
Google rankings are not that straightforward. Building a quality website with relevant high-quality content will always be a winning strategy.

    Good luck!

Please PM with your details and URL - i'll make some recommendations. I also agree, this is something you build up for time with a proper strategy. Also, use social media as much as you can

    Hi,

I work in SEO down in Oz. Backlink services are dodgy, even more so now that paid links are in Google's sights. If you want to build decent links at a low cost, blog comment on dofollow blogs.

Type this search operator into Google to find decent blogs to comment on:

    intitle:[your industry/product] "Yourname@Yourkeywords"

This will get you a few decent links - far better than paying someone in Asia to get rubbish, risky links.

Also, with your comments, post something relevant rather than "Great post thanks!" which will usually get rejected.

Don't do a glut of links together - one per week for 10 weeks is far more effective than 50 links in a week.

are recriprical links worth doing? message a website and offering to link to each others pages?

what are the other best ways to get backlinks yourself?

Yes recriprical links are worth doing..

Although Any Recip link is good preferably your own industry/product is given better preference by google and thus giving you that bit more seo juice.

reciprocal links are not worth what they once were. Try writing really good content that people will want to link to. There is always commenting on dofollow blog links too

All links "work", so long as you avoid porn, dodgy sites, banned sites. Relevance is the key factor. If you keep reciprocals below 5% of all your links, they can fly under the radar. Any more than that and you start to get into dodgy territory from my experience.
