This Easter Sunday should be a time of great happiness, the resurrection of the Lord, the eating of all that chocolate, the thrill of a great rugby match.

Spoil it all by visiting Scotts Hotel on Sunday night and listening to Zedz Dead. Now playing outdoors, even innocent passers-by are not safe.

Zedz Dead, you know you don't want to look, but like any good car accident, or a well endowed lady in an ill-fitting top at a funeral, you know that you probably will.

Zedz Dead, like a cloud on a sunny day, but in the night-time.

    Zeds Dead.

Another weekend, another night in Scotts. This time it's Saturday night, and hopefully the Zedz Dead boys will get the opportunity to play outdoors. The set has been rejigged a little which is good news, esp for the band members who have an alarming tendancy to sleepwalk during the gig.
The singer has some friends down from the big smoke so he will be out to impress them. As for the rest of the Zeds, who knows? They'll probably turn up, it just about beats watching the Brendan O'Connor show. Just about.

Zedz Dead. <insert sardonic comment here>

Friday night, and the Zedz are back in Scotts. Last week's wedding gig passed off without incident (thank the Lord Jesus), so it's back to the 'volume at all costs' approach.
Weather permitting, the Zedz will be playing outdoors. Hopefully it will be warmer than last time, when patrons were doing press-ups in order to maintain their circulation.

    It probably won't be though.

Zedz Dead - proving there is life after death, but it ain't so hot.

Saturday night, and the Zedz are back in Scotts. The singer has finished his exams and hopefully will have sobered up in time for the gig. If the rest of the band can tear themselves from the festival of sport that is on tv on Saturday, it should be interesting.
Interesting? Who am I kidding? It will be mildly diverting at best. At best.
The forecast is mixed for the weekend so this may have to be indoors.
I have no opinion on this.

Zedz Dead - flogging a dead horse, to death.

not sure if this is classed as a gig as such, but there's a Fresh & Funky revival night with special guest Johnny Moy in Horan's nightclub, Tralee, on the Sunday 3rd of the June (bank holiday), in aid of Crumlin Children's hospital.
Just thought I'd put it out there for anyone who used to go to Horan's back in the day when it was Transmission/Fresh & Funky :) All for a good cause!

This weekend sees the Zedz Dead lads embark on another "blew the kids communion money on dope and beer, and wasted the rest" mini-tour.

Saturday night and the Zedz will be doing their utmost to impress in Scotts Hotel Killarney.
It seems a local group is making waves so it's time to up the ante.
Gone is the slapdash going thru the motions sleepwalk, and in has come an entertain at all costs approach,
it won't last long but should be good fun while it does.

Sunday sees the Zedz entertaining the Wicked Monks in Abbeyfeale. The monks are sound and know their music,so there will be no slacking here either.

    Zedz Dead. Reap the whirlwind.

Zedz Dead return to Killorglin this weekend, in the hope that their six month absence will have dulled the memories of those unlucky people that endured them on the last occasion they played in Kingstons.
Having said that, the setlist has been changed considerably, and the band are performing a lot better these days, so it could well be a good gig.
On the other hand, as the Zedz haven't seen each other in a few weeks, let alone practised, it could well go the other way.

Zedz Dead. It's a dichotomy, dummy.

Following a great weekend in Killorglin, the Zedz return to Killarney determined to show that their last great, great gig was no flash in the pan.
The Zedz have had a practice session as recently as yesterday, but purposely played the songs in different keys to ensure they will still sound 'fresh' come gig-time.
Zedz Dead. Familiarity breeds a lot more than contempt, you know.

Another September, kids back in school, evenings drawing in, getting a little colder. What better way to embrace Autumn (or little winter as I like to think of it) than standing outside Scotts Hotel listening to the Zedz.

Currently on no. 2 of a 4 Saturdays-in-a-row stint at the hotel, the Zedz are drawing on their rarely heard wedding set to freshen things up, and it worked a treat last week. Dig it.

Fans of Ger Buckley won't want to miss this. I first saw Ger in the Abbey some 20 years past (at least 20 possibly 25), he started with Magnolia from JJ Cale, and played it for 9 or 10 minutes. Great man to find a groove and live in it. Occasionally wayward but mostly on the ball.
