She's a gas oul yoke alright. She genuinely seems to believe that as president, should something be put in front of her which she feels goes against her interpretation of the constitution, that she will be able to just slam her staff on the ground and shout out "It shall not pass!!" and that will be the end of that.

Or in other words we could have done with her during the last seven years.

...Dana - really how can anyone seriously vote for her? Felt like hitting her over the head with the constitution every time she raised it up.

As she went on, the books got bigger! :pac:

Yes I'm sure Dana would have made all the difference Squod.

(p.s. stop ruining my LOTR based joke dude).

I presume those results will be discussed by Vinny b in a few mins? Would be interesting to hear number of voters, if it was open to people in NI!

I didn't catch the debate (have it Sky +'d) but did McGuinness actually do as well as that suggests or is there, as Mitchell would say, a SF telephone machine molesting the results?

There will probably roll out some Fine Gael ying yang to post a tweet blaming vote rigging or somesuch but my honest opinion McGuinness aced that one. The vote percentages would seem about right - cept the Norris one seems way higher than I would have placed it after his performance.

He held his own pretty well debate wise. Spoke well and clearly, never seemed flustered. Had all his ducks in a row. Pretty impressive actually. Still wouldn't get my vote though.

He was on over 50% when it started, that would have been the dead voters getting in early.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

What about the other political parties being represented? Do they not have supporters?

Don't worry you will be delighted to hear McGuinness aced that one (by my reckoning).
I only heard him near the end going on about Ian Paisley and Ulster Loyalists and the events next year. He seems to really be playing on his "friendship" with Unionism/Loyalism which is frankly absurd.

It was more that he was able to put the past behind him and engage in peace with unionists. He also praised certain unionists for being peacemakers.

    He did okay

It hardly changed the whole way through though.

McGuinness came across well, though I personally feel his past affiliations rule him out.
Mary was very unremarkable. I don't feel she's presidential material.
Michael D. was the voice of reason throughout, and I liked the little box they gave him to stand on!
Gallagher I knew very little about before tonight. He surprised me.
Dana doesn't have a clue what's going on.
I thought Gay wasn't too bad, but spent too much time just arguing McGuinness.
Norris is a nice guy but goes off on tangents sometimes. His blatant dodging of the legal advice question was painful to watch and didn't do him any favours. Also, what was the whole 1916 'invite the american president' thing about? And the GPO doesnt have an arch. Jaysus David.

I think he's one of three people who stand a chance of winning it. Nobody will run away with it.

I think he will do well enough and yes it will be close.
I cannot see Norris in the last three.
