Yeah, I wrote my comment before I saw that and he went down in my estimation for that. It's hard to respect anyone who can't admit faults of themselves or their associates

I still dont think political leanings matter a sh*te in the presidency though, whatever about the constitutional powers, whcih will never be used radically, it is just a ceremonial role and it's worth thinking about who would be best for that
Thats why I liked Gallagher, he could talk the talk on trade missions
Dunno about the rest of them in that regard
Mickey D is the best just because he know the powers, and porobably more importantly, the limitations of the role

I think Michael D is a nice man, but he's just so 'meh' or something. Again, I like David Norris as a person and I think he's been attacked way in the extreme and it's been disproportionate to his failings, but he does wear his heart on his sleeve which is a problem. Again, I feel like no attention has been paid at all to Martin McGuinness' proposals for the future, and too much to the past. I've no problem with scrutinising the past, but it's just getting boring at this stage. Gallagher refuses to acknowledge what Fianna Fail did, so no. Mitchell is only there to stop McGuinness by the looks of things. Dana is far too right, not too mention an eejit. Mary Davis is just a non-entity. I'm really at a loss over who to vote for.
