    They should be hard wired. Many are combi boilers anyway with the pump inside the boiler housing. Why would you want to use plugs and sockets?

    It used to be common alright
    on basic oil boilers
    Most of em require perm feed now and more

    I had did it that way myself a fair few years ago alright now that i think of it, on oil boilers out in sheds.
