http://themonesthere.blogspot.com/2009/03/hangover-cure-dioralyte.html Two of them and a pint of berocca really helped me the other day. I know they're not food but sometimes on a hangover the last thing I feel like doing is eating.

Crispy rashers and banana toasty with a glass of icy cold apple juice.

According to that show Brainiac a few years ago ( :pac: )

The best hang-over food is a fried egg.
The grease helps break down the alcohol and the egg itself helps over come the hang over too. So AH'ers next time you got a hang over. Fry some eggs up.

Of course its nothing new. People have been having full irish breakfasts for decades after a night on the gargle.

Depends on the level of the hangover. Sometimes you can't beat a good fry up (with at least an hours snooze afterwards - very important!) Othertimes food is simply not an option - until possibly very late in the evening when only a takeaway will do - and all you can do between sleeping and throwing up is supping a very cold can of coke. Those are the bad days.:( After a full weekend on the beer (and i mean FULL) i didn't eat without throwing up until the Friday after. I was actually quite worried. Thankfully two cans of cider on the Thursday night seemed to sort things out.:o

A big bowl of mashed potato if I'm too hungover to drive. Ice cold can of coke for first drink, tea for second, coffee for third. Then lots of water.

Eddie Rockets strawberry milkshake and a burger if I can get out of the house.

I crave loads of things when I"m hungover. And everything i try comes back up. Goes on for a least a day. I give into the cravings every time although I know well what will happen.

Kinda learning not to chance the can of coke anymore though as it will NEVER stay down.

I don't actually care much for the hangover fry. Mild or severe, I've never found it a) tasty or b) effective.

Does he buy extra bog roll to go with that?

An XL bacon double cheeseburger meal with a cup of coffee. (try getting the coffee elsewhere though because theirs is shysh.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,605 ✭✭✭OakeyDokey

I usually can't stomach anything while I have a hangover, I drink bottles and bottles of 7up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,710 ✭✭✭Corvo

I never eat straight away the next morning, I always go for a good 4-5 pints, Guinness works particularly well.

Then get one of the following:

    - A Subway. Smothered in South-West sauce

    - Breakfast roll. Must have beans and mushrooms on it

    - Left-over Chinese

    - Bean and cheese on toast with a fried egg

All the above to be eaten with a bottle of luzozade, coke, or my personal favourite, and if you can find it your very lucky - a can of Rio. A tropical fruit based drink.

Eddie Rockets does home delivery now.......

Nothing quite like cheese fries & chicken tenders with a full fat coke and lots of ice to cure a bad head, sat on your sofa! :D

For me its all about planning and preperation.
Make a load of sambo's b4 ya go out and stick them with a bottle of water with a beroca and a bottle of fizzy in your room. Get something small in town or where ever ya are on the way home and eat it. Then in the morning ya have the sambo's, water and fizzy ready to go..........genius

Any food that restores what the body lost during the session.

So lots of sugar and fats for energy, salt and liquids to cope with the dehydration.

So a fry up with copious amounts of OJ, does work, but there is a catch.

I do be no way in the humour of making one, so I just suffer except when I am away.
