    MN Presents...

Kevin Reynolds Live (Todhchaí, Transmat, Yoruba, 616, Downbeat)
    Shane O'Meara (Lunar Disko)
    Barry Greaves (Warehouse Collective)
    MN DJs

    Doors @ 11
    Damage €8/10

As part of the next installment of MN Presents..., Kevin Reynolds will be crossing the Atlantic to deliver a rare two hour live performance. This unique event will take place in The United Arts Club, near Baggot St. Local jocks Shane O’Meara & Barry Greaves, will be initiating proceedings on the night. We might even lend a hand ourselves should time and sobriety permit.

Kevin first came to our attention back in June ‘10 when his live recording from DEMF 2010 featured as a Bleep 43 podcast. Reports back to us from the event were also highly complementary to say the least. Starting as an intern at Transmat, Kevin quickly learned the ways of the trade, taking his queues as a young lad from his contemporaries in the Motor City. Kevin now helps curate the “Made in Detroit” at DEMF, perhaps the last vestige of local talent at a festival which many would claim has forgotten its roots. Earlier in the summer, Kevin dropped us a live-set, once again exhibiting his vast array of talents. Crafted with his own material, edits & remixes, his genre-bending live recording was an honour for us to host on mntothat.com. He also spoke a few words to accompany the set where he talked about his experiences in an honest, open & friendly manner, often so rare to see. Not your average live-show, Kevin’s two hour performance promises a lot. Expect anything from techno, house, disco & a wide range of his influences, as he works all his gear and of course, his 808. Kevin is being touted by many as a rising star so this show is not one to miss.

On the night, Shane O’Meara and Barry Greaves will be setting the mood. We’re delighted to have these lads warming up, two hard-working DJs who in our opinion, are amongst the finest this city. We’ve witnessed Shane mix it up in style at many of the Lunar Disko parties down through the years. He also contributed a fine mix to mntothat.com, Hypoxic Delusions, an ode to his travels and still remaining one of our favourite contributions to the site to date.

Barry, another MN favourite, has been DJing around Ireland for years. Currently a resident at the Warehouse Collective parties, we recently asked him to be the first DJ to contribute a second guest mix to mntothat.com. Barry's also started dabbling more into his production and from what we've heard... he's a duck on water.

(While this is not a ticket only event, numbers are limited so we advise that you either buy a ticket through RA or send an email to mn AT mntothat DOT com to reserve a place and pay at the door.)

More details on the venue, drink deals etc still to come!!

Kevin Reynolds "Liaisons" tops LITTLE WHITE EARBUDS September chart:

"Listening to Liaisons, the newest record from Kevin Reynolds, it’s somewhat difficult to believe this is the same Detroit producer who put out Favis earlier this year. Not only is it a far leap from the loose, organically flavored style of his previous work, it’s a huge jump in quality as well. The title track sounds like he’s been marinating in the influence of Kassem Mosse (with whom Reynolds shared a bill in Chicago earlier this year), as it weds slamming yet intricate drum patterning with fundamentally appealing melodies. The hum of heavy metal doors sliding together sets the tone as oil barrel drums set the pace — deliberate but invigorating. A long, webbed synth progression springs from the shuffling drums, growing new leads and spurring the hi-hat patterns below to get more ambitious. It offers a feeling of peace withing the cacophony of life around us, a cue to find the beauty among the rote patterns of daily living, a chance to make even those humdrum moments more interesting. You could call it the younger cousin of Mosse’s Laid-released “Untitled,” one that’s learned from its raw, iconic forebear and wants to try cutting a similar path for itself. Good on Nsyde for scooping up this unexpected delight; better on Reynolds for taking the strides that caught their attention."

Apologies, there was a mistake made in the first post, Door are open at 10pm, not 11.

Loads of concessions so just get in touch for a reduced entry.

Before that, you'll find us down at Solas, on Camden/Wexford St, at the all day Rollover party, where Barry Greaves will be playing his first set of the day. It's a g-great free party with a g-g-greater free BBQ. Tony the tiger would be all over it!!
