How do you answer this Irish question?

    It's "Arbh é.(rest of question).............?" The answer is not Tá or níl . Does anyone know what it is?

    It's the past tense questioning form of the copula "is".

    Arbh é sin do Dhaid? (Was that your Dad?)
    Ba é. (It was)
    Níorbh é. (It wasn't)

    "Ba" gets shortened to B' before most words starting with a vowel, except: é, í, iad, and ea.
