How is this thread still open? There's as much bull being posted here as there was on that excuse of a forum.

No fear we'll still find an outlet to laugh at your huddles and usual failure when you actually come up against an actual football team in 2013.

damn shame its gone ,really going to miss it. Still cant understand why it was closed down with such haste , sleep on decision overnight ?
didnt see the offending pic/ post so cant comment on how bad it was , but anyone that posted anything on the site was very careful as to what they put up so as to avoid what ultimately happened .Just cant understand how one incident can bring down a site that was on the go for 10 years. when you look at some other sites and what posted and they sail happily along .Dublin Gaa scene is just to big not to have its own site , FFS ,even the lily****es and the lemons have a site. Bet they are pissing themselves laughing res dubs is gone , oh well, still have boggiestand:D

well the way you talk about other counties its no wonder its gone, talking sh.t in stead of GAA topics:rolleyes:

Will really miss ResDubs. Fantastic site for Dublin club scene.

Like others I did have run-ins with the mods. I was banned without warning and I could never find out any reason for it. The only reason I got from one mod was "Mr White was in his rags that week and banned loads".

I tried to re-register a couple of times to ask different mods what the reason was and just got banned straight away! So just re-registered a third time and kept the head down.

Hopefully someone else will take up the baton.

    Yes
It was my decision to close.

hopefully in the future something is arranged. I have all the names of the messers if anyone wants to pre ban them (Isn't that right sack?)

Sad to see it go whitey. Will be missed badly.

Was a great forum and meet some great people out of it and have many connections in Dublin GAA because of it.

As has been said above plenty of times - very sad to see it go. An invaluable resource for getting club results & even to gauge the feeling around the county on the lead up to big matches.

Sad to hear that its gone especially with the highlight of the club calender this weekend.
Hopefully it can be issue resolved for the sake of GAA fans interested in DUBS gaa

Lads, I have to say that this is a real shame for Dublin GAA. Believe it or not it was the only way some of us have of keeping us up to date with local GAA from abroad. I moved to Australia last July and I have checked res dubs every day, infact, it's the first site I check when I come in from work. To go from reviewing and posting comments on a regular basis to nothing is a shame because of some stupid post by someone who really doesn't care and will not be affected.

I only hope that someone can take up the batton that the previous mods had and runs with it as it would be disastrous for this site not to continue. Please mods, put a post out there and someone can champion the site in your absence. You guys have done great work in the past of patrolling the site and it is a thankless job and I hear your pain.

Please think of the guys that need it most rather than the odd bloody " looper" who runs riot for that spilt second f$&king it up for everyone else!

    Please reconsider!!

The real twiggy ( aka twiggy - even someone robbed me name here)

Well lads, having been a daily visitor and sometime poster to the res dubs forum, I'm really sad to see it gone. Fair play to the lads who have been looking after it as it was a first class operation.

Kilkenny cats, An Fear Rua and now Res Dubs........

    A great pity

Was a great resource for getting information on all things Dublin GAA, for getting challenge games and club contacts, there would always be someone who could answer a question for you. It's going to be a huge loss. Hope it will be back up and running again for next year in some guise or another.
Found it to be well moderated, suppose it had to be to survive so long. Pity the actions of a few pr**ks affect so many (if the rumours are to be believed).

"He walked over to his mac book pro and sat down at the newly bought IKEA Norden Gate-leg table" narrated a frightfully good looking timber merchant. :D

"He looked with a quivering bottom lip when he spied Res Dubs no more".
Thinking of the end of the scene of that monkey movie, he alarmed!

"Damn You, Damn you all to Hell" he shouted, going a little horse whilst doing. "he did however refuse to damage the Ikea wooden structure.

"The bright, exuberant site that he had fallen in love with over the world wide web thingymajig was now gone".

This ol Timber Merchant cried, a lot.

"He woke several hours later in a daze"

Thanks for the mammaries lads, it was emotional.

Still trying to get out of the habit of going to resdubs every time I get a free minute on the net. Is there counselling for this?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1 Goodjaysus

another poor soul seeking refuge from Res Dubs.

Gutted it's gone...was a great source of club and county info, and despite what some have said earlier was full of top notch lads who knew what they were talking about and were fair into the bargain.

Thanks to all the lads who kept it going for so long

Seeing as everyone seems to have relocated here can one of the admins answer a question for me?

I have a number of PMs with contact details that I've built up over the past 4 years that I now cannot access. If there was any notice given that the forum was closing I could have done something about it but there wasn't. I would appreciate it if I could get access to them and I know I'm not the only one with this issue.

Awful shame to see the site go, brilliant place for updates and scores.

But if this allows conorsalt to bring his spiels to a wider audience it may be worth it!

Hope they can get it going again, but a lot have already decamped to here so I suppose its the place to be now.

What do lads reckon on the final for Monday night? As a Crokes man I hope we do it, gonna be very tough though. Hopefully the experience of our lads will prove to be a big plus having been there and done it. Either way should be a cracker!

Seriously though, it will be missed, great site and fair play to all the lads who looked after it over the years. Hopefully it can be resurrected.
